Kawasaki Ninja description

2004 Kawasaki NINJA ZX-12R, Super Clean, Yosh Slip-Ons, 12,771 MILES, 1 KEY, $5499 + TTL - For many experienced motorcyclists, the most satisfying ride day consists of having incredible horsepower on tap at any rpm and a stable, comfortable chassis for leaning into long, sweeping turns of a seldom-traveled mountain road. For these riders, only an open class sportbike can provide this thrill and contentment, and none do it better than Kawasaki's flagship sportbike, the NINJA ZX-12R. For 2004, the ZX-12R's power delivery is further improved with the addition of sub throttles to the fuel injection system, and new radial-mounted front disc brakes enhance braking feel. Cycle World magazine said of the NINJA ZX-12R: "Kawasaki's open-class sportbike combines brute muscle with a responsive, solid-handling chassis. Whether you're staring down a dragstrip or carving along a twisty mountain road, the big Ninja's tractable power and raw acceleration can blur the landscape like few other machines can."

WSBK: 2012 Moscow Results

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.

Get down on your knees and play

This remarkable shot of Eddie Lawson is taken by Rich Chenet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.
