Kawasaki KZ900 description

Bought from the original owner about 2 years ago. I bought a new set of pipes for it shortly after that because the bike deserved them. It is otherwise in original condition with all original paint in excellent shape considering it is 40 years old. The bike does have some patina with some rust and imperfections here and there but is is so original I didn't have the heart to try and touch anything up. What you see has no spray paint or Armor All. The original owner took the air cleaner muffler off years ago and could not find it. It does however have the complete tool kit, original bill of sale, manuals, buyers tag and even the plastic warranty card which verifies it is matching numbers. The bike has 15k original miles and runs out the way you remember with that signature Kawasaki whir. I have decided to let a couple of older bikes go so please check my other auctions. I will be happy to sell it to anybody but Texas buyers will have to pay state fees. Out of state buyers will be responsible for fees in their home state. I want the buyer to be happy. Please ask questions. It is not a new bike obviously but a super nice survivor.

Old boys up front and where are the new 600 Gixers?

Mon, 28 Feb 2011

As I’ve been gagging for the new race season to kick off so it was almost a pleasure getting up at stupid 0 clock to watch the World Superbike Championship  opener at Phillip Island last weekend. I have to say Messrs Burnicle and Whitham were on form although I was disappointed there were none of the usual verbal attacks on each other that always add to the entertainment.    I’m sure they will put things right soon but the world superbike regulars must have been disheartened that Moto GP veterans nailed five of the six available rostrum slots.

Need something to do on August Bank Holiday weekend, then read below: "Although the South West Motorcycle Show has been running at the Westpoint Arena for the last sixteen years, 2010 is the first year that the show hosts the all-new Vertical Trix European Stunt Championship. The show contains all the usual attractions that have been delivered to motorcyclists from over the south-west and further afield since 1994 – including all the appropriate trade stands, and with strong support from local dealers – plus attractions such a a dyno on site, restaurant, bar, bike displays, live music and of course the live action arena. Although the action in the show arena has previously been stunt displays, rather than a full-on competition.

WSBK: 2012 Phillip Island Results – Video

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Max Biaggi won the opening race to the 2012 World Superbike Championship while defending champion Carlos Checa came back from a high-speed crash in the first race to win the second at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. Reigning champion Checa of Althea Ducati had a stunning high-side crash while leading on the sixth lap of Race One. The WSBK paddock was already in shock with the death of 17-year-old Oscar McIntyre in the Superstock 600 race the day before but thankfully Checa was not seriously injured.
