Kawasaki KZ900 description

You are bidding on a 1976 KZ900. Somebody painted the motor (#z1e122954) black. Bodywork repainted by the previous owner. Since I bought it, the carburetors have been cleaned, gas tank cleaned, front master cylinder rebuilt, replaced the points with a Dyna S and also added Dyna coils and wires. A new battery was installed last fall. All the lights work as they should and it also still has the original turn signal beeper hooked up. I don't know the manufacturer of the header, but it appears to be ceramic coated. The seat appears to be original. K&N filters were on it when I got it. It does not have the original chain guard. There is a tool kit with it, but I don't think its original. Both tires need replaced as they are cracked. The bike starts right up and the motor has no unusual noises. I took it around the block twice and it shifts fine. The carburetors will need a little adjusting or jetting as it isn't perfect, probably because of the K&N filters. Included with the bike is a very nice front wheel, a nicer rear wheel, and a pair of fork tubes that aren't rusted.

Local pickup only in Lisbon, Iowa  I will help load if you arrange shipping.

Please ask any questions before bidding.

Payment expected within 3 days after auction ends unless other arrangements are made in advance.   Please see my feedback and bid with confidence. Be sure to check out my other auctions. Thank you.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

Mon, 23 Apr 2012

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Anthony West Can’t Afford to Pay to Race MotoGP, Mulls Retirement

Fri, 27 Jan 2012

The 2012 MotoGP season is still months away and the world championship has already lost an entry, as veteran Anthony West announced his withdrawal from the series because he cannot afford to compete. The 30-year-old Australian racer was included on the provisional 2012 MotoGP entry list to compete for the Speed Master team on an Aprilia CRT machine. But with the official pre-season test at Sepang, Malaysia, coming up next week, West says he will not race because teams are asking riders to pay too much to race for them.

This remarkable shot of Eddie Lawson is taken by Rich Chenet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.
