Original Owner, All Original 1981 Kawasaki KZ550 LTD, with 6631 ORIGINAL MILES. The Bike starts and runs very well. It was in storage unused for over 10 years until I took it out this spring, and began to clean it up and restore it. The tank has been cleaned and lined, the fuel lines have been cleaned and purged, new plugs were installed, oil changed, and a new battery was installed. The bike starts right up, and runs well. If I had the time, I would repaint the tank, and put a new master cylinder on the bike, and it would be good for any trip, and many years to come. This bike is a classic, and is one of the original 4 stroke, (4 cylinder), bikes to be introduced into the mid sized, production market, and was ahead of it's time when introduced. It's still very much a classic, and looks it. The seat is in great condition, with no tears, or issues. I've included a close up of the tank that shows the rust coming through the paint, which is why I would suggest repainting the tank. Again, the interior of the tank was lined a few months ago to ensure the integrity of the tank and fuel lines. The Engine # is KZ550AE019571. Displacement is 553cc. 53HP at 8500 rpm. Wed, 26 Sep 2012KAWASAKI are releasing a limited run of chronograph watches to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of their seminal bike. To reflect the engine capacity of the Z1, the run of watches has been limited to just 903 time pieces and will retail in the UK at £249.95. The watch will be officially launched at the main German motorcycle show, Intermot, on 2October, in just the same way the Z1 arrived in Europe for the first time 40 years ago.
2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Recalled for ABS Modulator Issue
Thu, 25 Jul 2013As we expected, a manufacturing error for a Nissin anti-lock brake modulator has led to a recall in the U.S. for the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300. (UPDATE: Transport Canada has also issued a recall for 745 units, in addition to the 1,083 units recalled in the U.S.) Kawasaki had already issued a recall in Japan for ABS-equipped versions of the 2013 Ninja 250, so it was no surprise that the 300, which uses nearly all of the same parts, would fall victim to the recall as well.
