Item Details

1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD

25,063 Miles

Please watch the video walk-through!

Up for grabs is this unique 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000LTD! The bike was recently picked out of a garage, brought home, and fired up first kick. The electric start also works as it should. The bike runs through all gears, and seems to shift and stop well. It does break up and pop a little at mid rpm range, but the bike has a sat for a couple of years, so some new plugs and fresh fuel should do it wonders!

The bike has been repainted a sour apple green by the previous owner. It was painted in a shop, but paint job has a few flaws, mostly on the rear tail. Overall the paint is good, but in case the pictures or video don't show it, it is definitely not a show quality job. There are also some broken cooling fins that can be seen in
both the pictures and the video. Bike could also use new fork seal dust covers, as seen in pics.

I would suggest going through this bike once purchased. New fresh fluids, a rear tire, chain , things of that nature. With that being said, this will bike run and ride down the road as is. Front tire seems solid, rear tire will need to be replaced. Both side covers are missing, and no other parts are included in the sale.

If you have any questions PLEASE ASK!
This is a solid, fast bike and would make a great candidate for drag project , or sleeper to hit the streets with.

Off-Road Motorcycle and Free-Ride Bicycle Compared

Thu, 11 Dec 2008

What if anything do bicycles and motorcycles have in common? Besides the whole two-wheel thing, it isn’t outright apparent that these two “handle-barred beasts” share more than ancient ancestry. Modern Off-road motorcycle and Free-ride bicycle designs side-by-side illustrate how much technology the two have in common.

2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Review - First Ride

Wed, 14 Dec 2022

Reducing the seat height without lowering expectations Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing Entry level dual-sport has for a very long time existed in the void between categories, particularly when you consider folks who are shorter in the inseam. We all need to start somewhere, but for most who did not grow up riding, or maybe started exclusively on street motorcycles, the reality is that the entry-level engine size is often combined with the inability to comfortably touch the ground at a stop. That’s enough to deter all but the most stubborn of vertically challenged riders.

2013 AMA Supercross Minneapolis Race Report

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Hometown hero Ryan Dungey put a stop to Ryan Villopoto‘s winning streak, taking the victory before 48,846 supportive fans at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. The Red Bull KTM rider from nearby Belle Plaine, Minn., stalked Monster Energy Kawasaki‘s Villopoto for most of the race before taking the lead and winning the 20-lap race by just 0.903 seconds. The win put Dungey into second place in the standings ahead of Rockstar Suzuki‘s Davi Millsaps and perhaps more importantly, cut away at Villopoto’s points lead.
