2013 Kawasaki KX 450F, The KX450F has the new Kayaba Pneumatic Spring Fork (PSF) which provides easier and more effective tuning and improved bottoming resistance. Updated engine tuning offers more power and smoother delivery from basement revs and provides more thrust while exiting corners and down the straights. New lightweight 240mm petal-type rear rotor features aggressive petal style that is the same as the front rotor and is gripped by a single piston hydraulic rear caliper.

KTM 690 Duke Replaces Kawasaki Ninja 250R for WSBK’s 2012 European Junior Cup

The World Superbike Championship‘s European Junior Cup youth racing series will switch to race-prepped KTM 690 Duke motorcycles for 2012 from the Kawasaki Ninja 250R racebikes used in its inaugural 2011 season. The rebranded KTM European Junior Cup will be open to riders 14-19 and will be held at eight WSBK rounds in 2012. The series was conceived as an entry point for young racers, providing them opportunities to develop their skills before moving up to higher classes such as the World Superstock Championship and beyond.

If you are a track day regular this year, you may well have bumped into former racer and friendly Kiwi, Simon Crafar. I first met him in Malaysia in 1990 when he was riding for a Yamaha dealer team, sweating his way round circuits like Shah Alam and Johor Bahru but with a long term plan to make it onto the World scene. And he didn’t take long as after riding for Honda in the UK in 1992 he moved to WSB in 1994 and enjoyed success with both the Honda and Kawasaki factory teams.
