Kawasaki KLX description

2012 Kawasaki KLX140L, Capable Dirtbike! - A Capable Dirtbike for Fun and Adventure Taller riders will appreciate the KLX140L, which features taller wheels – 19-inch front and 16-inch rear – than a standard-spec KLX140. It incorporates all of the virtues of the standard 140, including an engine that provides a steady flow of power that new and seasoned riders will enjoy. The 140L model is equipped with a more performance-oriented, reservoir-equipped shock, because it’s popular with a larger, more experienced crowd. Of course, the standard KLX – with 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels – is still a great option for novices and smaller riders.

The 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is in the books, and while much of the media attention focused on Sebastien Loeb demolishing the outright course record, setting the first eight-minute lap with a 8:13.878 — over 90 seconds faster than the previous lap record —in his Peugeot 208 T16, history was made in the motorcycle divisions as well. Below are the times for all the motorcycle competitors in this year’s event. As expected, Carlin Dunne aboard the Lightning electric superbike, took top honors among all motorcycle competitors, marking the first time an electric motorcycle has done so.

Recall for 2009-2010 Kawasaki KLX250

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

Kawasaki is recalling some 2009-2010 KLX250 models due to a risk of leaky fuel tanks. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fuel tank on affected motorcycles may not be in contact with the frame-mounted rubber dampers designed to support the front of the tank, and the tank side mounting tabs may have excessive clearance from from the frame. As a result, spot-welded sections along the side tabs may be under excessive stress, potentially resulting in cracking and a fuel leak.

2014 Kawasaki J300 Scooter Spotted Filming in Milan

Of the “Big Four” Japanese motorcycle manufacturers, Kawasaki stands out from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha in at least one notable way: it doesn’t produce scooters. Well, at least not for developed western markets. In the Philippines, Kawasaki offers a 112cc step-through scooter called the Curve, pictured above, while other Asian markets get underbone-style models like the Indonesian Kawasaki Edge R.
