Tom Sykes and Loris Baz captured a pair of one-two finishes for Kawasaki at England’s Donington Park. The first race saw the reigning World Superbike champion fight his way up from 11th place for the win while Race 2 offered a three-way battle between the two Kawasaki riders and Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli. Kawasaki a Winner at New York Festivals World’s Best Television & Film Awards

Kawasaki received four awards including gold medals for Best Venue and Best Cinematography at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards for ads featuring the Ninja ZX-6R (636) and the Z800. The New York Festivals have been celebrating the best in television and films for 55 years. This year’s awards, announced at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas, awarded 119 gold medals, 145 silver medals, 10 bronze medals and 327 finalist certificates for entries representing 50 different countries.

Kawasaki Reports Q1 2011-2012 Results

Kawasaki reported a 8.7% decrease in motorcycle sales over its first quarter ended June 30, 2011. The motorcycle and engine division (which includes ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft and general purpose engines) generated sales of 59.8 billion yen (US$775.4 million) , a decrease from the 65.5 billion yen (US$848.9 million) reported from the same period last year. Overall, Kawasaki Heavy Industries reported a profit of 9.56 billion yen (US$123.8 million) over the quarter, compared to a profit of 5.88 billion yen (US$76.2 million) reported last year.
