A single shock with 4.3 inches of travel and plenty of bottoming resistance handles things out back, while a beefy, 30mm telescopic fork offering 4.3 inches of wheel travel tames the bumps up front. Tapered roller bearings at the bottom of the steering stem add durability.

And that s why the design team outfitted the bike in radical, KX-inspired bodywork: gas tank, seat, side panels, shrouds and fenders look as if they re straight off the race winning KX450F. A comfortable, MX-style seat is part of the deal, along with a handlebar bend that gives a high degree of comfort and control to a wide variety of riders.

ABS Option Coming for 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic, Nomad and Vaquero
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Anti-lock brake technology has become fairly commonplace for motorcycles now, and it sometimes comes as a bit of a surprise when a major manufacturer does not offer ABS as an option on certain models. The European Parliament making ABS mandatory by 2016 has helped push things along, as manufacturers work to equip their models with the technology ahead of the deadline, not just for the European market but also for other markets including the U.S. New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal Kawasaki will offer an ABS version for its 2014 Vulcan 1700 cruisers and tourers for American consumers.

Kawasaki Confirms New Z1000 Arriving at 2013 EICMA Show
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Kawasaki confirmed it will introduce a new Z1000 on Nov. 5 during the 2013 EICMA show in Milan. Team Green has been running a teaser campaign for the new Z for a couple of weeks now, so this isn’t exactly surprising news, except to confirm the new model will continue to use the Z1000 designation.
