Kawasaki KLR tech info
Kawasaki KLR description
This is a nearly mint condition 2008 KLR650 with all the add-ons one would ever need to create the ultimate "budget" adventure bike. I originally purchased this bike for local and solo dual sport trips. It didn't take me long to fall in love with the KLR for its ridability, comfort, versatility, and most of all reliability, so I decided to build the ultimate KLR650 Adventure bike out of it. I did all the research and talked to owners to determine exactly what upgrades were best, then I executed the plan over the winter. I blew the doors off the budget because every mod made the bike that much better, so the cycle continued.
You can see in the pics that this KLR looks and turned out great, but the way it rides now, considering its anemic stock performance, is amazing. It performs on the street and dirt with confidence. You can do an entire day on this bike and still be able to walk at night (mostly because of the highway pegs, seat, and risers). The list below contains all the modifications made to the bike. Every upgrade has less than 100 miles of use except for the doohickey kit which was done when the bike was purchased. As you can see, this bike is built to go the distance. This is a bulletproof, nearly maintenance free KLR with every upgrade you would ever make already installed and brand new. If you want a purpose built adventure bike at a less adventurous cost, this is the bike for you. The build far exceed my expectations, but has unintentionally resulted in a bike so capable it no longer fulfils its original intended purpose for me, which is why I am selling it. It should be owned by someone who is going to put on the miles it was designed for. Silverstone Motorcycles launch night Thursday 29th
Wed, 28 Jul 2010TOWCESTER based Silverstone Motorcycles, has just announced a launch night on Thursday July the 29th as part of the build up to the UK round of the World Superbike Championship being held at the revamped racing circuit just two miles west of the impressive new premises. A dual celebration marking the conclusion of a massive refurbishment project, the fun packed evening also marks the unveiling of Silverstone Motorcycles as the latest Kawasaki dealer in the UK. With a raft of attractions including a special guest appearance by Kawasaki World Superbike star, Tom Sykes, a ticket prize competition for the WSB round itself, plus the chance to ride a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R round the new Silverstone Stowe circuit over the race weekend, the evening has been conceived as a way of launching the new dealership and welcoming as many Kawasaki fans as possible according to Managing Director, Nikki Lockyer.
2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R First Ride
Thu, 01 Dec 2011Loyal fans of Suzuki’s iconic Hayabusa have something to be seriously worried about. Kawasaki has overhauled its fast and smooth ZX-14, adding a bigger and more powerful engine that promises to outgun the venerable ’Busa. I just spent a day hammering the new ZX-14R In Las Vegas, beginning with a blast through the desert and ending with several runs down the quarter-mile dragstrip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
WSBK 2012: Assen Results
Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
