Kawasaki KLR description

Located in Boone, NC 28607.  I bought this bike as a project and a project it was! It took me a while but I learned a lot and enjoyed the process. It is not perfect looking but is a beast! It was dropped lightly when I got it, see pics. Clear NC title. The motor was off the bike when I got it. The KACR spring had let loose and caused problems in the head, the cams and journals were scoured. The previous owner had started to mess with it, then sold it to a local pawn store who started to mess with it more and after about a year of it sitting in a pile of parts in the back of the shop I finally got it! I sent the head to Eagle Mike but he said it couldn't be fixed, IDK, but I got a good used head. The following is a list of stuff I have done, in no particular order and I have receipts:

So it's clear this is a 685 CC bike, it's a beast!  All receipts provided for proof.

If you don't know what some of this stuff is you should joint KLR650.net and learn if you are gonna own a KLR!  Of course I'll tell you though!

Forgot to mention! The gas tank is/was clean with no rust! When I first put gas in I used Ethanol free high octane gas and since is has had nothing but E free high octane! Mike was kind enough to clean out the carb for me and put the KLX in too. So it's clean, clean clean!  The aluminum rack on the back has a crack in it but is still solid, I may be able to get it welded soon.

So why the hell am I selling it!? No kids on the way, no big move or any other crap like that. I just don't enjoy riding it. It was more fun to work on! Got it running, went on a few rides with it and just found that when I had the time to ride I wanted to ride my other bike, an SV1000.  Locally on CL too.

Japan Needs Your Help

Thu, 17 Mar 2011

By now, we’ve all seen pictures and video of the devastation in Japan following the March 11 earthquake and the ensuing tsunamis. Japan, of course, has contributed much to motorcycling, with the Big Four of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, as well as tire manufacturer Bridgestone, helmet companies Arai and Shoei and many other motorcycle industry stalwarts all coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. Jon Bekefy and Greg Hatton, two motorcycle enthusiasts, industry employees  and above all, humanitarians, have set up a fundraising campaign benefiting the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.

Isle of Man TT 2013: Monster Energy Supersport Race 1 Results

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

Michael Dunlop captured his second victory in the 2013 Isle of Man TT, winning the first Supersport race a day after doing the same in the Superbike race. But it was a different Dunlop that led early on the first lap. Older brother William Dunlop on the Milwaukee Yamaha R6 had the fastest time through Glen Helen, between the ninth and tenth milestones of the Isle of Man’s Mountain course.
