Kawasaki KLR description

United States Marine Corps M1030B1 Kawasaki KLR 650 with 241 miles. Bike is super rare and in perfect condition. The bike has a new back tire. All the plastic is there, none of the plastic is cracked. It has the special large 6 gallon plastic gas tank. The tank is translucent so there is no need for a gas gauge. It has the original stenciling from when this motorcycle was issued to the Marine Corps. The stencil shows a date of 1999 but title shows 2000. This is because the factory date on the frame shows a build date of June 1999 making it a year 2000 motorcycle. Neither the petcock nor the tank leaks fuel. There are no oil or coolant leaks. It has an electric start and the choke works. The engine starts, idles fine, revs out and has plenty of power. The engine runs well and there are no knocking or tapping noises. The engine does not smoke. It is a tight sounding engine and the exhaust is quiet. The bike runs well in all 5 gears. The radiator cooling fan works. Both disc brakes work. Everything electric works well. The charging system charges at 13.4 volts. All hand switch buttons operate freely. The hi/ low headlight beam, taillight, brake light work. Both front and rear brake light switches work. Also has blackout lights.

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

The nerves are rising as I sit upon a factory Ducati on the grid at the final round of the WSB championship lined-up against the best riders in the World, the lights are about go out to decide winner… The reality however, is I've been working on my arse groove in the couch, in a darkened room with the remnants of last nights takeaway playing on SBK 2011. SBK 2011 is the next extension in the bike racing game series. The two major modes in the game are the standard career and the SBK Tour.

CONTROL specialist Venhill has launched its new 888 range of bike-specific fast action twistgrips.  Supplied complete with the company's top of the range Featherlight cables, the kits are designed for a straightforward replacement of the factory-fitted equipment.  Bike-specific kits are now available for the Honda CBR600F, Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R600/750, Triumph 675 Daytona and Yamaha R1/R6, among others, with prices from £105. Here's Venhill's description of the new product: "Manufactured with a robust CNC machined alloy body, the 888 fast action twistgrip provides a choice of two settings and is supplied with two rotors so that riders can select the throttle action that best suits the riding conditions.  Settings can be changed swiftly by undoing the two set screws securing the throttle body and changing the rotor. On the fastest setting there is 80° of rotation, (taking up 36mm of the cable), which is typically 45% faster than 'standard' throttles.
