Kawasaki CONCOURS tech info
Kawasaki CONCOURS description
Are you looking for a great motorcycle that has the power of a sport bike and the comfort of a cruiser? Well look not further! This bike has been garage kept and well maintained. Only 32K miles on this classic design. It is great for commuting to work, touring, or weekend getaways. You will not find a better bike for the price.
The Kawasaki Concours, known as the ZG1000, is a 997 cc, six speed, four cylinder, liquid-cooled sport touring motorcycle with shaft drive. The bike can reach speeds over 120 mph, offers nimble handling and -- with its full fairing, tall screen, twin locking saddle bags, and 7.4 US gallon fuel capacity-- is suited to cross-country two-up touring. Kawasaki introduced the Concours in 1986 into the USA the year after the slightly faster (137 mph) BMW K100LT at less than two-thirds the price of the BMW machine. Both bikes were tested by the magazine Motorcyclist, which came out in favor of the Kawasaki concluding that it was "the most practical, useful and competent motorcycle made" and "superior to the BMW in almost every aspect imaginable." |

A Weighty Issue
Mon, 03 Nov 2008For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
Josh Hayes Wins Fourth AMA Superbike Title
Thu, 18 Sep 2014Say what you will about the depleted state of the American roadracing scene, it shouldn’t diminish the fact Hayes put in the effort and beat some formidable challengers to the title. Here, the AMA congratulates Josh Hayes on his accomplishment. Monster Energy Graves Yamaha’s Josh Hayes entered the 2013 AMA Pro SuperBike season on the heels of the most dominant campaign in the history of the series and with his primary threat no longer in the paddock.
AMA Supercross: 2012 Toronto Results

With his chief rivals not making the trip north of the border due to various injuries, Villopoto can clinch the 2012 championship as soon as next weekend’s race at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, if they continue to be out of action. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has 271 points with five rounds remaining.
