2006 KTM 525 SX
6 Speed Conversion! Tops out over 100 mph! This bike was my dream bike for a long time. I bought it from its original owner in Arizona in 2010. He was an older gentleman that used it occasionally for trail riding, but said it was too much bike for him. I then brought it home to the Texas desert and had the 6 speed conversion installed on it. This bike absolutely hauls ass! I set it up to ride the sand washes and long trails we have out here. It has a desert tank for those long rides and a jet kit to adjust for my altitude. Has normal scratches from normal riding. Bike has never been raced. Just trail riding. Not many hours on it since I hurt my back in 2012 and haven't ridden much since then except for putting around once and a while on the farm. I always use the ktm recommended oils and parts and I am meticulous on maintenance. That being said, It has been sitting in my garage for some time and will most likely need a quick tune up and carb cleaning to be ready to go. Included is a brand new rear tire and tube not yet installed, and any KTM parts that I have around. It pains me to sell it, but I have come to the conclusion that I need to get a UTV or something that wont worsen my back condition. Guess Im getting old. I have over $6000 in this bike. AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season
Fri, 12 Apr 2013AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
KTM Announces 2013 Factory Team, Bids Farewell to Cyril Despres
Tue, 12 Mar 2013(ED: Updated with a message from Cyril Despres.) KTM introduced its 2013 Rally Racing team while bidding farewell to five-time Dakar Rally winner Cyril Despres. Despres won all five of his Dakar victories with KTM, winning in 2005, 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013. He leaves the team to pursue a new challenge, with Honda rumored to be seeking his services for its newly-revived rally racing program.
KTM Reports Q1 2014 Sales Results
Mon, 14 Apr 2014KTM reported a record year in 2013, but the Austrian company does not appear to be slowing down in 2014. KTM claims sales of 32,994 motorcycles over the first three months of the year, an impressive 26.8% increase over the same period in 2013. Considering KTM sold a record 123,859 all of last year, the impressive start bodes well for another attempt at a sales record in 2014.
