KTM SMR description

2006 KTM 450 SMR

Fully street legalized. PA title in hand.

This bike is in excellent condition, the only negatives I can think about is that the headlight does not work, and will need a new bulb, and the front brake lever end is broken off (last inch or two of the lever, you can see this in the 3rd picture) due to a fall in the garage. In all honesty I don't ride at night often, and when I do the high beam is always on anyway so fixing the bulb was never a priority. There are some minor scuffs and scratches, but the body is plastic, it is in excellent condition all things considered.

The state inspection is currently expired, but the bike has always passed without any issues. I am planning on getting this done soon and may have it by the time it sells. The Odometer shows just under 1800 miles, but I installed the vapor when I got the bike in 2009, so it will have some more unrecorded miles before I owned it. Runs strong, only premium (KTM recommended) Motorex oil used, changed every 3-400 miles. Tires are still in good shape and everything else works well, not much to comment on. I ride the bike on the street to and from work. No highway, and no race track time.

Always stored indoors.

Not really interested in a trade, but feel free to ask if you have something interesting.

If you are interested, I can send you a link to a thread on SuperMotoJunkie where I have more specific part number info and pictures about the street legalization build and process.

2024 KTM RC990 Sportbike Spied

Tue, 11 Jan 2022

890 Duke-based supersport spotted in Spain Credit: Photos by Bernhard Höhne/BMH-Images Last summer, KTM got us excited with a new RC 8C sportbike, but our interest waned when we realized it was a limited production track bike that was not street legal. Still, that didn’t stop interested customers from scooping up all 100 units less than five minutes after the pre-order window opened. Not that we were surprised about the strong demand, as it has been years since KTM produced a large-displacement sportbike.

Stuck for a gift? Solution No1: KTM merchandise

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Once upon a time motorcycle manufacturers made and sold one thing: motorcycles. But that's long since changed and these days you can find motorcycle-related versions of virtually any product you can imagine. So if you're struggling for Christmas gift ideas, we're going to dig out some of the weirdest bike-related gadgets on the market.

2024 KTM 390 Duke Review – First Ride

Premium treatment for the baby Duke Photos by: Francesc Montero, Sebas Romero Like many things in life, perspective is everything. Here in the US, KTM’s 390 Duke has been the smallest member of the Duke family (although that’s no longer true as the 250 and 200 Dukes cross the ocean, too). As the baby Duke in America, we generally look at it with kid gloves, a cute learner bike for someone to start with before coming up through the ranks.
