The ultimate dual sport machine, rides like a champ solo without the sidecar, smooth like a sewing machine, keeps up with modern bikes easily. Attach the sidecar and now you have fun for the whole family. This dream team of bike and sidecar has been a real love affair for the past 8 years that I am really hoping someone else can take over. A great machine and rig, moving forces sale, it is only a few steps from perfection. As you can see, the bike has been kept as completely original as possible. Always garaged, no rust, look at those pipes! The front forks have been rebuilt with Progressive springs and it has Progressive rear shocks. Recently serviced with new battery, rear Metzler tire (the front Metzler has maybe 1000 miles on it) brake shoes and Tsubaki chain. Front brakes were done last year along with professional seat recovering. It starts up easily (see the video) once warm idles smoothly at about 1100 rpm without any choke, the carbs were rebuilt 5 years ago. Gas tank has been sealed with POR15 which has been holding up brilliantly. I have done most of the work myself, but have also been blessed with an older mechanic at a local dealership who has one himself at home and knows how to work on the bike. 1977 Honda CB750K with sidecar (youtube.com) Sidecar is a Spirit of America California Sidecar; produced from 1971 to 1975, the magnesium wheel was only available during the later years of production, unable to date any more precisely since they did not produce with serial numbers. I had the wheel vapor blasted and sealed with urethane. I stripped the frame to bare metal, then seal with POR. It has a new shock and new seat and new Heidenau tire. I have had precision bearings pressed into the wheel. It also come with a new Gustafson windscreen, which is not yet been attached. Lights on sidecar are cross wired into CB to share braking and turn signaling The front fender of the sidecar has a partial thickness crack which does not affect car in any way (see pic) entire body is fiberglass for easy repair. Fabrication of the mounts on the CB (which can be easily removed) was done by Stace Welding & Metal Fabrication. I have attached an additional headlight wiring harness to add an additional headlight onto the sidecar if desired, plug and play easy to remove. I have the bike registered, you can run the VIN to see it's clean, but I do not have a title because Connecticut will not title any vehicle over 25 years old. You are looking at a really nice 1977 Honda CB750A with only 10,xxx miles on it. It has been well maintained and taken care of. Not a show bike but shows very nicely. Some of the chrome has very minor pitting. Keep in mind this bike is almost 40 years old. Has a new battery. It's a little finicky starting when it's been sitting. I think it just needs to be taken out and ridden. Once it's warmed up, it goes down the road just fine. I just replaced all the shifter shaft and kickstart shaft seals. At least one was slightly leaking so I replaced them all. Just had oil changed and new seals. One of the carbs. is starting to leak. The carbs were rebuilt last year and put on by previous owner over the winter so it shouldn't be anything to major. I'd probably get that checked out before riding it. I've been riding it around on short rides and it seemed to quit leaking. Very comfortable riding bike. Has a Sharp stereo/tape deck. The radio part is not displaying but I think the tape deck works. The back rest is adjustable and will slide forward for rider to use. I noticed today that the headlight is not working. Everything else works, down to the turn signal beeper. Please look at all the pics closely. I tried to capture any kind of flaws. If you would like to see anything in particular, let me know and I can send a pic. This was my uncles bike that has been parked since 92. Ran fine when parked according to my aunt but has been sitting in garage since then. I brought it home from our family vacation with the family this summer and now have it titled in my name. I have keys to the bike and the keys to the bags as well but see info below on the bags. It will need carbs cleaned and a battery. Has compression and shifts through all gears. I have not tried to start and fully expect it will be a really bad-AXX ride with a bit of TLC and know how to clean and sync the carbs. Had a $1200 service by Honda before being parked several years ago THEN I purchased it and performed the following work: New MAC 4 into 2 exhaust (like stock) New CR smoothbore carbs w/ NOS intake manifolds (absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find for an A) including remote idle screw adjustment for warming up. Bought this 550 from my brother-in-laws dad. It has been garage kept. Rebuilt the master cylinder and caliper. Replaced the plugs, points and condensers. Changed oil and filter. Electronically cleaned the fuel tank. Replaced carbs with rebuilt set; old set goes with bike. Still needs horn; doesn't work. Gas tank has scratches and chrome is pitted (see picture of wheels). Mufflers need replaced soon (see picture). Small break in fins on front left cylinder (see picture). Runs good; would take it anywhere. Good shape for its age. For Sale is a 1977 Honda CB400F in about 99% original condition with 3,366 miles. It will be hard to find one as original as this. The only aftermarket items now installed are crash bars, air cushion handle grips and a throttle lock, that's it. I purchased this bike in July 1979 with 1,119 miles. This bike has been in storage for more than 34 years with a squirt of Marvel Mystery Oil in each cylinder and the carbs and gas tank drained. Storage started with it wrapped in plastic and stored in my barn. I have kept it always thinking I would ride again or in my older years or stick it on the back of a motor home for local transportation. Now I'm older, none of that happened, so its time for it to go. Everything is original except for the battery, one turn signal and the tail light lens to get an inspection sticker (original lens is available with a broken clear plate lens). The tires are original, still hold full pressure from year to year and are in great shape. Engine oil has been changed but it still is black from the remnants of ARCO Graphite oil that I used back then. (I still have 10 quarts of the stuff if the buyer wants it.) Unfortunately with so many years of unmonitored storage, some of the plastic wrap deteriorated unnoticed and as a result of typical New England cold to warm humid air changes, there is some pitting of the chrome. Most of it cleaned-up but there is some blister pitting especially on the rear fender, tail light bracket, chain guard and the aftermarket crash bars (see photos). Some of the silver engine paint has also failed. There is a series of scratches in a small area on the front fender (photo) that were there when I got it. Also, in the fall of 1981, as a result of hitting an oil slick during a turn at an intersection, there is some road rash on the headlight rim, tachometer base, brake fluid reservoir and the underside of one exhaust pipe (see photos)(not to mention a separated shoulder). Also, one turn signal had to be replaced. I never registered it again until 2014. Since uncovering it and cleaning it up two years ago (3,283 miles), I have ridden it each year only for required inspection and around the block to make sure all is still OK. 2023 KTM RC 8C Review
Wed, 31 May 2023It had been quite a while since I last rode a multi-cylinder KTM on a racetrack – all the way back to 2011 and the Red Bull-sponsored factory RC8R 1200cc V-twin on which Martin Bauer was victorious in that year’s IDM German Superbike Championship, with teammate Stefan Nebel third. That was a key moment in the Austrian dirtbike specialist’s climb up the ladder to equal status with the likes of Honda and Ducati in the road racing pantheon, and showed that orange was a color to be reckoned with on-road as well as off it. KTM invited Alan Cathcart to join 30 customers to pick up their new RC 8Cs in Valencia and hobnob with the likes of Jeremy McWilliams, Mika Kallio, and Brad Binder.
