2014 KTM 1190 Adventure Introduces Motorcycle Stability Control Technology

KTM unveiled the 2014 versions of the 1190 Adventure and 1190 Adventure R, along with a new rider assist system it calls Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC). Developed with anti-lock brake system manufacturer Bosch, MSC applies combined-ABS and traction control even when leaned over into a curve. Sensors gather data on various parameters including wheel speed, lean angle, pitch angle, acceleration and braking pressure.

If you’ve never seen a sidecar race, you’d be amazed at how different it is from motorcycle racing. Not only do you have some entirely different physics at work with the third wheel, you also have a passenger sprawled over the chassis behind the rider, sticking his body out to either side at lean angles that would make Marc Marquez break a sweat. Pit Biking; good clean fun for all the family

If you haven’t tried Pit Biking yet, you’re missing out on some incredible fun, and it won’t break the bank. The majority of pit bikes are of Chinese origin and I guess, are best described as modern day monkey bikes. Yes Chinese, and I’ve witnessed them being thrashed round all day long without missing a beat, so Jonny Wong and co. are finally getting there on quality and reliability!  Although Pit Bikes are designed for off road use, an extra few hundred quid spent on matching up wheels, fitting tarmac tyres and some crash protection will mean you’re track ready for a total of around £600.
