2014 KTM 250 XC-W, 2014 KTM 250 XC-W 2-STROKE An unbeatable power-to-weight ratio, low purchase and ownership costs as well as straightforward technology make the 250 XC-W the prime choice for extreme enduro racing. The cutting-edge engine is started effortlessly via electric starter and has been considered the most successful 2-stroke power plant on the market. Best-in-class enduro performance, a newly developed intake feed valve, the perfectly geared 6-speed transmission and enhanced DDS clutch make this engine the absolute top dog of its segment. Features may include: Frame The modern and lightweight frame design made of high-strength chromoly steel sections combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional ridigty. It guarantees easy handling and precise cornering, but also outstanding stability. Swingarm Designed using the latest in calculation and simulation software, the design and wall thickness of the cast aluminum swingarm have been optimized for minimum weight at optimum stiffness and precisely defined flexibility. For 2014, the engineers have revised the chain guide to increase reliability while lowering the weight. Superior suspension settings The first rate WP Suspension elements have been further improved for 2014. 2014 HRC Dakar Team Announced
Thu, 30 May 2013Today at Mugello, ahead of this weekend’s MotoGP race at the famous Italian racetrack, Team HRC unveiled its 2014 Dakar team and motorcycle. Interestingly, one person many thought could be a Red Rider this year after leaving KTM, Cyril Despres, will not be riding a Honda next year, instead joining Yamaha’s Dakar effort. However, HRC’s team still features five accomplished riders: Helder Rodrigues (Portugal), Sam Sunderland (UK), Javier Pizzolito (Argentina), Joan Barreda (Spain) and Paulo Goncalves (Portugal), all of whom will be competing on the CRF450 Rally.

Fri, 27 May 2022A long-legged beast Credit: Photos by Evans Brasfield What a beast, I thought to myself as I put my first few miles on the 2022 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. In retrospect, that thought kind of made sense given the fact that the mill tucked beneath the 1290’s new tank design is an iteration of the Super Duke’s 1301cc V-Twin – the naked bike dubbed by KTM marketing folks as “the beast.” And beastly it is. Even in larger ADV garb coming in at 542 pounds dripping wet, the SA-R is still an absolute ripper of a motorcycle that is fully capable of serially killing rear tires.
