Features may include: Frame The modern and lightweight frame design made of high-strength chromoly steel sections combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional ridigty. It might have been the fumes of the 40:1 fuel mix but I had a tear in my eye when the chequered flag came out for the last ever competitive two stroke race in the Moto GP paddock on Sunday at Aragon. With two riders on the sick list twenty two identical single cylinder KTM 125s buzzed round for fifteen laps of mayhem and sometimes eight abreast heading into the first and last corners. The sight, sound and smell were fantastic and the clean close racing was a fitting end to a very special era.

For that reason, I thought I would highlight some of the more noteworthy models shown at the EICMA show in Milan, starting with KTM. KTM Announces Record Sales of 123,859 Motorcycles in 2013

KTM announced a 15.6% increase in motorcycles sales in 2013, thanks in large part to expansion into Asian and South American markets. The Austrian manufacturer sold 123,859 motorcycles in 2013, compared to the previous annual sales record of 107,142 motorcycles set in 2012. Increased sales translated to revenues of €716.3 million (US$971.0 million) in 2013, a new record shattering the previous record of €612.0 million set the previous year by 17.0%.
