2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Fri, 17 Feb 2012KTM's return to racing in the Moto3 class has resulted in one of the most exotic race machines for the new four-stroke replacement class. The lightweight 24kg 250cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine has been connected to a trellis frame, and it is all contained within a beautifully crafted carbon-fibre shell that includes a self-supporting seat unit. Now in its second stage of development, the whole package has been pretty impressive in testing, with Red Bull Ajo KTM riders Danny Kent and Sandro Cortese putting in some fast laps.

Fri, 17 Jan 2014The penultimate day of Dakar 2014 saw a dramatic change in the overall standings which could make for an exciting final stage tomorrow. Today, however, Yamaha Factory Racing rider Cyril Despres took his second special stage win of 2014 and his 33rd career win for Dakar. Coma, despite taking a 15 minute penalty, finished second for the day, maintaining his overall lead.
