For sale is a very unique motorcycle. This bike started as a 2008 KTM 450 SX F. It is converted to race flat track and it also has a New Hampshire street title. Suspension was professionally set up by Boughner racing for flat track, 19" wheels front and rear, Maxxis drt-1 tires, Ktm lighting coil/ electronics, super bright squadron pro LED head light, tail light, feather weight lithium battery, Electric start and there is a whole lot more I am not listing. The last receipt for parts and labor at the dealer was over $2400. Very little time on flat track components. Bike starts and runs great with no smoke. Transmission shifts perfectly. Wheel bearings are tight. I also have two rear sprockets one for short track and one for street or larger track. Thousands invested!

The bad. The frame was painted orange and the paint was hiding The VIN. So I decided to use a small wire wheel on a drill to clean the paint off. Apparently KTM does not print the VIN into the metal frame. KTM uses some sort of composite layer over the metal and prints the VIN in that. So the wire wheel destroyed the Vin number and is only partially visible. I do have the new Hampshire Street title in hand.

Bodachs on bikes

With the Gaelic for ‘old man’ being Bodach it was only right we call our annual has been Scottish Racers run out 'Bodachs on Bikes'. The gang now includes names from the past like Morrison, MacPherson, Simpson and Duffus with a Robert Burns and Big Gordo thrown in for good measure. Island hopping was on the agenda this time round, so for £60 we acquired a Caledonian Macbrayne Hopscotch ticket allowing us three ferry crossings between the mainland, Skye and Lewis. Having heard lots of good stuff about the new KTM 1190 Adventure I thought this could be the perfect bike for the journey so managed to book Loughborough’s Redline KTM’s demo out for a week. My first stint was an uneventful 400 miles north but with an average of 250 miles range per tank and 80s club classics on the i pod it felt like I was there in no time. I also kept myself amused scrolling through the easy to navigate countless combinations of engine performance, traction/anti wheelie and suspension settings clearly displayed on the dash. There seems to be a setting for everyone; luggage or no luggage, big guy or small guy, brave or scared ( no rider aids or full rider aids). After assembling in the holiday town of Helensburgh on day two, we rode up around the coast on the A82, A85 and A828 to Ballachulish. A quick puddle jump across Loch Linnhe then saw us heading round the A861 to Strontian before going north to Mallaig.

IndianCarsBikes.in has uncovered spy photos of a KTM 200 beign tested in Pune, India. Pune is home to automaker Bajaj Auto which owns a share of KTM. Bajag Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj had previously hinted at a 200cc version of the KTM 125 Duke in an interview with BSMotoring.

In a touching tribute to Kurt Caselli, one of America’s brightest off-road racing stars, who tragically lost his life in a crash while competing in the Baja 1000, a gathering of over 2000 people descended upon Glen Helen Raceway to pay their final respects in a rolling tribute. The line of cars stretching back to the nearby freeway was a fitting reminder of just how many lives Caselli touched and how important a figure he was to many. Caselli’s KTM crew and teammates were just some of the many who came to pay their respects and take a ride-out in Kurt’s honor with his mom Nancy and fiancée Sarah at the head of the vast pack of motorcyclists. Motocrossers like Dean Wilson, Blake Baggett, Cole Seely and then other luminaries like AMA Superbike racer Chris Fillmore and off-roaders like Destry Abbott were part of the group.
