Chad Reed earned his first AMA Supercross win in nearly two years with a hard-fought battle in the second round of three rounds at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. The win was the 42nd career victory for the TwoTwo Motorsports Kawasaki rider, but the first since Jan. 21, 2012, in Los Angeles.

KTM Announces Record Sales of 123,859 Motorcycles in 2013

KTM announced a 15.6% increase in motorcycles sales in 2013, thanks in large part to expansion into Asian and South American markets. The Austrian manufacturer sold 123,859 motorcycles in 2013, compared to the previous annual sales record of 107,142 motorcycles set in 2012. Increased sales translated to revenues of €716.3 million (US$971.0 million) in 2013, a new record shattering the previous record of €612.0 million set the previous year by 17.0%.

Day 3 Dakar 2014: Barreda Maintains Overall Lead, Despres Catches Up

Joan Barreda won his second special stage this year and now boasts a lead of more than 13 minutes over Cyril Despres and Marc Coma, the two other beneficiaries of a particularly decisive stage. Today’s stage, part one of the first marathon stage with no team service, was characterized by the highest ever racing altitude in Dakar history. Facing the 22,841 foot summit of the Aconcagua, South America´s highest mountain, the motorcycle riders had to cross a pass over 14,107 feet in elevation in trial-like conditions.
