Starting bid is the reserve
As many of you already know, I currently have a 1/2 off sale going on all my VMX bikes through my website. So far, right around 30 bikes have already been sold in the last 2 months. At those prices I really feel like my bikes are already a steal, but in order to keep the momentum going I will be listing 1 or 2 a week here on ebay. I will be offering a select few here at even lower starting prices, so here's your chance to save even more $$ on certain models in the upcoming weeks and months. I have this bike listed on my website for $4,000 so as you can see this bike is going to sell to someone really CHEAP!
Please see my other listings as I have an auction on a very nice 1987 Kawasaki KX125 running at the same time as this one.
This KTM is an excellent running bike that is, as far as I can tell, right around 99% all original. It has not been run in years so do expect the usual carb, air-filter, basic race prepping BEFORE use. These are fast bikes--they're basically the moto-x bikes with a lighting coil for desert or enduro use depending on your needs. On these MX-C's the rear frame loop is added (for taillight support if ever installed) and KTM adds a side stand as well (still there). WHITE POWER (WP) suspension is incredible (at both ends) and are one of the very few inverted forks eligible to use in AHRMA's or AVDRA's vintage classes. If you have not ridden a KTM or Husky with these early inverted WP forks you are truly missing out. They work as well as anything from the 1990's, and it's like cheating when racing against all conventional forked bikes (but it's not---'cause they're legal).
I really like finding bikes like this little KTM in this condition because they are so rare, and even more importantly, you just know that it was never abused. Restored bikes are great (I have a bunch) but unrestored mint condition examples are even better. The trend in automotive and motorcycle collecting seems to be headed towards mint condition 'barn finds' like this, and collectors (like me) get all jiggly when they're found.

PAYMENT: I accept a $250 DEPOSIT only through payal. I will NOT ACCEPT full payment through paypal. Any balance of funds are due within 7 days via; cash in person, wire transfer, personal check, bank check. Bike does not leave my possession until all funds have cleared my bank. Please only bid if you intend to follow through with the purchase. I will use eBay's unpaid item dispute service to the full extent if I am pushed into doing so.
DISCLAIMER: This is a USED vintage dirt racing motorcycle that comes WITHOUT any warranty or guarantee of any kind. Bike is sold in used and as-is condition. Photos tell the story so please look closely and ask questions if needed.
SHIPPING: USA--I have an arrangement with a good, honest, reliable shipper using an 18 wheeler rig (enclosed) to get these bikes just about anywhere in the USA for anywhere between 200-500 bucks depending on where you live in relation to Phoenix, AZ. All shipping costs are the responsibility of buyer but I can help arrange shipping for you if needed. Pick up is preferred.
SHIPPING: INTERNATIONAL-- NO TITLE so getting out of USA and into yours will be somewhat expensive. All shipping costs are the responsibility of buyer but I can help arrange for you if needed. Pickup is preferred.
REGARDING MY FEEDBACK: Although I sell most of my bikes through my own site, you may notice that I've sold quite a few through ebay as well. In all my years of selling I've only encountered one complete idiot (and his wife) who for some reason felt that they were buying a 'brand new' '78 Husky 390CR from me for the colosall sum of $2,000.00. It actually was a really decent bike, but it was definitely used as any 35 year old vintage dirt racing motorcycle would be. Even when dealing with people like this, I still try my best to make them happy after the sale, but I will not respond to blackmail threats of leaving me negative feedback unless I send them new parts or money back. That's a sure way of getting absolutely nothing more out of me. With that said, I need people to understand that these are used race bikes and there will ALWAYS be something that YOU need to perform on it prior to riding or racing it. Most of you guys who have been in the VMX hobby for years like me already understand this, but there are some who just don't get that. If you are one of those people, PLEASE do not bid on any of my stuff---if you want a new bike from 1978 please go get into your time machine that you have hiding in your garage, go back to 1978, and buy yourself a new bike.

Spy Photos Capture Near-Production KTM 1290 Super Duke

The test mule in the pictures show some differences from the 1290 Super Duke R prototype revealed at the 2012 EICMA show.
