Indian Announces Five-Year Service Coverage, Trade-In Value Guarantee and Other Ownership Incentives

Polaris Industries continues to throw more support behind the revived Indian Motorcycle brand with a new customer incentive it calls the “Indian Motorcycle Assurance Program”. The new program receives the support of Polaris’ financial, engineering, manufacturing and service resources to support Indian’s new 2014 lineup of the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftain. “The Indian Motorcycle Assurance Program sets a new benchmark in the motorcycle industry for warranty coverage, service and support,” says Steve Menneto, Polaris vice president of motorcycles.

Hybrid Motorcycle Gets 282 MPG

The ET-120 is the hybrid version of the Strike EV that was released earlier by Eko Vehicles based in Bangalore, India and claims to be the first hybrid motorcycle in the world.  The new hybrid bike will feature a 70cc gas engine and electric motor that will get 120 km/l or about 282 mpg in hybrid mode, has a top speed of 40 mph but the power and torque will be equivalent to a 120cc engine. Piaggio Slashes Vespa LX125 Prices in India to Bolster Slow Sales

Piaggio launched its Vespa scooter brand at last January’s Indian Auto Expo to much fanfare but sales have fallen short of expectations. The Vespa LX125 launched in Indian showrooms in April as the first new Vespa scooter offered in the country in 13 years, but Piaggio has only sold about 25,000 units. That might seem like a lot, and would be, for the U.S.
