Indian Other description

1927 37 cubic inch Indian scout. Very nice restoration of an original machine.  Runs and drives great, fabulous correct Indian red paint and pin stripping. Correct nickel plate. Just a super bike for a collector. The  Bosch magneto does not work but is being used as a set of points to fire a coil that has been added along with a battery.  The speedometer is not a Corbin. Correct DU 5 generator and DLX40 carburetor. Motor # EG1129   I took this bike in trade several years ago from a man in Europe who found it there and did a very meticulous restoration. I had it shipped back to the USA and sold it for considerably more than what my reserve is now. I bought it back from the estate of the man I had sold it to three years ago. I do not have a title I will provide a Maine registration in my name and a notarized bill of sale. Check with your DMV before you bid to see if that will be a problem for you. Please do not ask me what it will cost to ship to you. I am not in the shipping business but Federal Allied is 800-747-4100 ex 2210 call them. I will help any winning bidder from over seas to make crate and shipping arrangements. Call me with any questions or concerns before you bid 207-318-5406. Indian recalls 'rebel' motorcycles

Thu, 19 Apr 2018

3,341 bikes fell under the service action. The New World has announced a recall of Indians released from October 25, 2016 to November 17, 2017. The problem is that the switch is corroded, which can cause the engine to start unintentionally if the key fob is close to the motorcycle.

Indian Announces Removal of Brake Throttle Override

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Today, Indian Motorcycle Product Director, Gary Gray, told us that, because of feedback from journalists and the riding public, effective immediately, the Brake Throttle Override (BTO) system developed to prevent unintended acceleration in its ride-by-wire throttle system will not be installed on any of the 2015 Indian models. Additionally, owners of a current Indian who wish to have the BTO disabled on their motorcycle can simply take it to an Indian dealer to have its ECU flashed with the new software. Although the BTO has been present on all Indian models since their release last year, we first noticed its effects on a group ride at the Roadmaster’s introduction.
