New Indian Thunder Stroke 111 Engine in “Spirit of Munro” Streamliner

To mark the unveiling of its new Thunder Stroke 111 engine, Indian Motorcycle revealed a custom-built streamliner motorcycle dubbed the “Spirit of Munro“, equipped with the new Indian engine. The “Spirit of Munro” is a tribute to the Munro Special, the 1920 Indian scout that set a new land-speed record in 1967 at the Bonneville Salt Flats for under-1000cc motorcycles. The Munro Special was famously depicted in the 2005 film “The World’s Fastest Indian“, starring Anthony Hopkins.

Indian Motorcycle Weekends at Washington IMS

Indian Motorcycle will be in Washington, DC starting this Friday at 3 p.m. as part of the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS). Riders who attend the IMS at the Washington Convention Center will be treated to a variety of events throughout the weekend – many of which honor the US service personnel stationed in the DC area.

The iconic two-tone schemes will build on the overwhelmingly positive response to the current 2014 Chief range, known for its hi-torque Thunder Stroke 111 motor and precise handling, thanks to Indian Motorcycle’s sand-cast aluminum frame technology.
