Indian Chief description
You are Bidding on a 1948 Indian Chief Motorcycle.
Helping an elderly gentleman/friend sell his long treasured Indian Chief. Roger purchased his Indian in 1973 from the original owner. He contracted the complete powerplant overhaul to Bob Stark himself in 1974. In 1975 Roger a good mechanic himself had the sheet metal painted and finished the bulk of the refurbish job himself. This bike has lived it’s whole life in Salt Lake City, consequently virtually no rust or corrosion. This machine is an excellent matching number bike (engine, frame) less than 400 miles since complete overhaul, It rides, performs, and handles well, plenty of power, quiet and smooth, charging system works well, good brakes and tracks straight. This would be a nice machine to leave just as is and continue to maintain it mechanically as it has a nice patina and certainly character. A couple of notations: Incorrect front brake lever Speedo needle jumps around but odometer works fine. Tires are reasonable but not correct. Tool box is missing. Tailpipe is incorrect. Incorrect dimmer switch. Wheels rebuilt in 1974 with original cad spokes. Inside of tanks look good. Bottom of frame and engine cases have never been hit, not even scratched (Rare) Aluminum oil pump has excellent return. Without leak down over months. (Rare) MAKE: Indian MODEL: Chief 1200cc 74cu TITLE: Clear Tires: 5:00 x 16 Color: Black Serial: CDH 3895 Frame: 3483895 Electrical: 6 volt Transmission: 3 speed Mileage: 338 since overhaul Reserve the right to sell locally, good luck bidding!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Our Magnificent seven
Wed, 16 Feb 2011Remember to dust your Union Jacks down if you happen to be visiting any Grand Prix this year as we have no less than seven youngsters to cheer on in the junior Moto GP classes. I don’t think we’ve ever had this many ‘yoofs’ in the GP paddock so let’s hope they can do the business and bring an end to our long drought of Grand Prix titles. And that could be soon as Scott Redding is already a hot favourite for the 2011 Moto 2 championship on his Marc VDS Suter machine.
