Indian CHIEF CIVILIAN description

THIS IS A VERY NICE 1945 INDIAN CHIEF CIVILIAN. IT HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT AND RESTORED IN 1990. THE BIKE HAS BENN STARTED AND RUN EVERY YEAR SINCE AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN AND ROLLED AROUND 52 MILES. THE BIKE WAS A NATIONAL FIRST PLACE SENIOR WINNER IN THE ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA IN 1991, WITH A SCORE OF 97 1/2 POINTS.

THESE ARE THE ONLY FLAWS I SEE, (SMALL PAINT CHIPS MISSING ON ROLL GUARDS. 3/8" PAINT CHIP ON RIGHT HAND GAS TANK. NEW TIRES FROM 1990 SHOW SIDEWALL CRACKS. AS HONESTLY AS I CAN TEL YOU THIS IS THE CLEANEST OLDEST BIKE I HAVE EVER SEEN YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.)

THIS BIKE IS TITLED WITH THE ENGINE NUMBER ONLY BECAUSE THE FRAME NUMBERS HAVE BEEN PAINTED OVER. IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE WITH A DEALER TRANSFER. THERE ARE NO FEES. ONLY THE PRICE YOU BID AND YOUR SHIPPING THAT IS IT.

I AM SELLING THIS FOR A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS A DEALER. ANY QUESTIONS YOU ASK I WILL DIRECT TO HIM AND GET BACK TO YOU AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. THIS BIKE HAS A NADA VALUE OF OVER $44,000 GET IT HERE STARTING AT $30,000

THERE WERE VERY FEW CHIEFS MADE IN 1945 BECAUSE OF THE WAR. THE W.P.B. ALLOWED INDIAN TO MAKE VERY FEW OF THESE BIKES FOR CIVILIAN USE. YOU HAD TO ORDER ONE FROM YOUR DEALER AND APPLY TO THE W.P.B. WITH A REALLY GOOD REASON FOR NEEDING ONE. LIKE IF YOU WERE THE CHIEF OF POLICE OR CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. VERY FEW WERE GRANTED, VERY FEW WERE MADE, EVEN FEWER SURVIVED AND EVEN FEWER THAN THAT ARE OF FULLY RESTORED SHOW WINNING QUALITY. SO THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET A RARE MOTORCYCLE FROM THE ORIGINAL INDIAN "MOTOCYCLE" COMPANY.

Is it the Ultimate American Bagger? Credit: Photos by Barry Hathaway and John Burns What exactly the hell is the meaning of this, letting a 30-year old kid be the Powertrain Project Engineer for an all-new bagger? What could a callow youth who roadraces a 15-year old GSX-R600 and rides a Tuono on the street, possibly know about the bagger mentality?
