A Closer Look a the New 900cc Husqvarna Streetbike

Husqvarna will enter the twin-cylinder market in 2012 with a variation of the F800 powertrain from Husky’s parent company BMW, enlarged to around 900cc. This supermoto-styled version will undoubtedly be accompanied by a more dirt-worthy adventure-touring model. The test mule seen in these photos appears to use several components from the BMW F800R, including its swingarm and wheels.

There's no parental favoritism here, Husky shares its love equally amongst all its children Sometimes manufacturers like to put most of their eggs in one basket. For example: Kawasaki has an awesome motocross model lineup, but there are no real comparable 250 or 450 cross-country or trail bike models to select from. Husqvarna (and KTM for that matter) is different because the company builds bikes for not only the avid motocrosser, but for the hardcore off-roader, too.

2015 Husqvarna FS 450 Supermoto Announced

One result of KTM‘s acquisition of Husqvarna is the crossover of models, with KTM motorcycles swapping orange for Swedish blue and yellow. That is, more or less, what happened with Husaberg, so it’s no surprise to see that continue with Husky.
