Last year???s TC 250 debuted the F1-inspired Red Head engine design, and showed great success, winning races both on and off the track. For 2013, the TC 250 R receives all-new WP radiators, which are stronger and more efficient, and fine-tuning to the motor provides smooth power, and increased durability.

Those dusty roads connected rocky trails and choice stretches of pavement like the famed Franschhoek pass which, on a Saturday, was reminiscent of California’s own Angeles Crest Highway. We watched eclectic groups of open topped roadsters interspersed with an equally varied slew of two-wheelers strafe from apex to apex while we made photo passes.

Pierer Industries AG is owned by Stefan Pierer, who happens to be chief executive officer of KTM, which also happens to be the parent company of Husaberg. That’s three European motorcycle manufacturers with strong off-road lineages in the same family.
