Husqvarna TC 250 description

2006 Husqvarna TC 250, - The TC 250 Husqvarna four-stroke has been radically modified for 2006. The new head features larger valves, with the intake valves increasing from 29 mm to 30.5 mm, and exhaust valves increase from 24 mm to 25 mm. Camshaft profiles have been redesigned to offer improved intake. Air intake and exhaust ports have also been redesigned along with the high-turbulence combustion chamber offering a large squish surface area. The new, low profile, metal head gasket improves cooling. Special forged pistons are lighter and feature two “O” rings, and are fitted to longer con-rods. The completely new primary drive has been modified with longer gear ratios and high-resistance aluminum bell housing. Last years electric starter has been removed, saving nearly nine pounds. In its place is a new kick-start system that includes a redesigned kick-start lever ensuring easy, safe starting even under difficult conditions. An electric starter is optional for those preferring the ease of the magic button. The new all-titanium exhaust system features an improved performance Arrow silencer while maintaining 2006 FIM noise level standards. The 28 mm tapered handlebars have no cross member and are height adjustable to offer the rider optimum control.

Husqvarna Developing ABS for Off-Road Use

Thu, 03 Nov 2011

Husqvarna announced it will introduce the worlds’ first anti-lock braking system designed for off-road racing, equipping a BMW-developed off-road ABS to Husqvarna’s flagship TE449. On paved roads, ABS prevents wheels from locking up, keeping them rotating and providing traction. Off the pavement however, rear wheel lockup is helpful for stopping on loose surfaces such as dirt and gravel.

Husqvarna to Race Moto3 in 2014

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Husqvarna announced it will enter the 2014 Moto3 World Championship, fielding Danny Kent and Niklas Ajo in the 250cc road racing class. The team will be sponsored by energy drink maker Red Bull, which means the team won’t be lacking in funds. Husqvarna did not mention the motorcycle the team will use, but with the company now owned by KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer, the Red Bull Husqvarna team will use machines similar to KTM’s winning Moto3 racer.
