2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R Unveiled

Husqvarna has pulled the wraps off its first streetbike, the new 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R. Named for the Italian word for “naked”, the Husqvarna Nuda 900R is powered by a modified version of the engine from parent company BMW’s 800cc parallel Twin. Husqvarna hasn’t announced specific final numbers yet, but claims the now 900cc powerplant puts out over 100 hp and more than 73.8 ft-lb.

Training with Marco Melandri

New BMW World Superbike recruit, Marco Melandri has been using the Bavarian manufacturer's connection to Husqvarna to get himself a nice new motocross bike for the off-season. Melandri has been riding the Husky TC250 in preparation for the 2012 season, whilst the winter testing ban was in effect. Commenting on riding motocross the Italian said: “I ride a lot, almost every week, I like riding with friends, mainly just to have fun.
