S/N# 670035; Frame and Engine Numbers Match

• This is a very early production 1967 Model 250, perhaps one of the first that came to the U.S.A.
• Bike appears to have been originally assembled using some left-over parts from the 1966 model. Note the multiple piece welded expansion chamber, the flat face air cleaner cover and the two-bolt handle bar clamps.
• I have posted a copy of a May 1966 Cycle World Road Test of the 1966 Model 250. Their test bike was nearly identical to this one except for the swing arm design and the foot peg angle.
• I don't think this bike has ever been restored. The gas tank, frame and many other parts still have their original paint.
• Bike was dis-assembled and cleaned approx 5 years ago and then re-assembled using the original Bufo Bolts.
• Swing arm was repainted because the chain guide tab had cracked and when I had it tig welded, it burned the paint. Paint was Limco single stage and a close but not perfect color match.
• The head and cylinder were removed. (Barrel was still standard bore and in good condition). The piston and rings were cleaned and then the motor was re-assembled and painted with PJ1 Satin Black paint and new side cover bolts were installed. There is a slight oil leak somewhere around the clutch cover. There are no broken fins but someone did machine the head for a second spark plug.
• Both chrome rims look very good and spin pretty true. Looks like all original spokes. Front tire is an N.O.S. 19 inch Yokohama knob. Rear tire is an 18 inch Chen-Shin that appears to be a copy of the old Metzler Knobby.
• Rear fender is the original aluminum piece. It was repainted with the same paint as the swing arm. It is not perfect but quite presentable. Inner rear fender is original aluminum and in good condition. Front fender is an aftermarket aluminum version.
• Gas Tank is original, never repainted and very clean inside. There are two dents on the l/h side and a seam was repaired on the underside, (see pic's). Tank does not leak however the gas shut off valve drips a bit. There are a couple of stains, scratches and nicks in the chrome panels but still not bad for a nearly 50 year old survivor dirt bike.
• Original Magura controls and trap-door throttle with decent aftermarket cables and N.O.S. Magura Grips.
• Exhaust pipe is in very good condition; no rust, cracks, or dents that I could see.
• Seat was re-covered using the original steel pan.
• Also including a 1973 printing, (in fair condition), of a Clymer manual and a puller for the flywheel. (for reference, the puller is a Motion Pro P/N MP08-0386 that fits these models if you grind the edge of it to clear the rivets on the flywheel.)
• Overall, This is a good running and pretty rare old Bolt-Together Husky. Everything on the bike works. Starts pretty easy when warmed up and shifts thru all 4 gears with good clutch action.
