2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R Makes Public Debut

The 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R made its public debut in Frankfurt, Germany, in the courtyard outside BMW’s display hall. Displayed together with other Husqvarna models as well as motorcycles from parent company BMW. The display bikes were all anchored firmly to their stands and test rides were not available but I did get some seat time on the Nuda.

BMW and Husqvarna to Unveil Concept Models at Frankfurt Auto Show

BMW will unveil an electric scooter concept model and an entry level Husqvarna streetbike concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The BMW concept, shown in the teaser sketch above, will likely be a version of the E-Scooter electric maxiscooter concept announced in July. BMW claimed the E-Scooter’s liquid-cooled electric motor offers performance similar to a 600cc combustion engine, while the battery casing itself will form the body of the frame.

The Husqvarna Nuda 900R will make its public debut in near-series production form at the 2011 Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, also known as the Frankfurt Auto Show, Sept. 13 in Frankfurt, Germany. Described by Husqvarna as a cross between a supermoto and a naked standard, the new Nuda 900R is the product of the partnership between Husqvarna and parent company BMW.

2012 Husqvarna TC/CR Motocross Models Announced

Husqvarna announced its 2012 motocross lineup including the updated TC250 and TC449 four-stroke models and CR125 two-stroke. Like the previously announced TE dual sports and TXC and WR off-road models, Husqvarna‘s 2012 motocross line receives new all-black chromoly frames with added structural reinforcement, and silver anodized Excel rims. 2012 Husqvarna TC250 The 2012 Husqvarna TC250 (pictured above) receives a new engine with a lighter piston and updated cylinder head, both borrowing from parent company BMW’s Formula 1 developments.

2012 Husqvarna TE Lineup Announced

Husqvarna has announced its 2012 lineup of TE dual-sports. For 2012, all four TE models have been updated with all-black chromoly frames, silver rims and new graphics. The 2012 Husqvarna TE250 and TE310 both get revised suspension with stiffer 48mm open cartridge forks and rear shock from Kayaba.

Husqvarna has announced its first 2012 off-road models, including the new TXC310 and a returning WR125. TXC Cross Country Models The TXC310 (pictured above) is the newest member of Husqvarna‘s cross country model line, joining the TXC250 and TXC510. Developed specifically for the U.S.

2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R Unveiled

Husqvarna has pulled the wraps off its first streetbike, the new 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R. Named for the Italian word for “naked”, the Husqvarna Nuda 900R is powered by a modified version of the engine from parent company BMW’s 800cc parallel Twin. Husqvarna hasn’t announced specific final numbers yet, but claims the now 900cc powerplant puts out over 100 hp and more than 73.8 ft-lb.

Husqvarna Cuts $2000 off MSRP for 2011 SMS630 and TE630

Husqvarna North America has reduced the price of its 2011 SMS630 supermoto and TE630 dual-sport by $2000. Husky’s largest models (at least, until the 900 finally breaks cover), the SMS630 and TE630 were all new models introduced last year as early 2011 models. After the discount, the 2011 Husqvarna SMS630 is priced at $5,999 while the TE630 is priced at $6,499.

Husqvarna Launches New Site for 900cc Streetbike

Husqvarna has launched a new website for its upcoming 900cc debut in the streetbike market segment. At the moment, the site, www.husqvarna900.com, is sparse on the details but that will change fairly quickly. Technical specs are expected on June 25 with the first official images to be revealed July 1.

Husqvarna will enter the twin-cylinder market in 2012 with a variation of the F800 powertrain from Husky’s parent company BMW, enlarged to around 900cc. This supermoto-styled version will undoubtedly be accompanied by a more dirt-worthy adventure-touring model. The test mule seen in these photos appears to use several components from the BMW F800R, including its swingarm and wheels.
