Hydraulic Left Hand Rear Brake (LHRB) Kit

Provides an easily accessible, additional method of operating your rear brake whilst retaining full use of your standard rear brake pedal & clutch lever!

·        More control of the bike in almost all conditions

·        Increased confidence and ability on steep descents

·        Faster and safer in technical and extreme situations

·        Light and precise one or two finger operation

·        Always accessible - unlike the rear brake pedal

·        Superior feel - less locking up on slippery ground

·        Advantageous to all levels of rider ability

·        Easy to fit with full instructions

·        Top quality components throughout

Off road riding often requires very precise use of the rear brake, remember a locked rear wheel in mud has almost no grip & can mean the difference between keeping the bike under control or crashing out - especially on extreme descents.

A rear brake pedal can only be used properly in a neutral riding position but on a dirt bike you'll be sliding right up to the fuel cap one second and hanging over the rear mudguard the next – not to mention the times when you have to put your right foot down to regain balance.

A left hand rear brake is always accessible – just like the front brake.

These are just a few examples, when you actually start riding with one you'll be amazed how much you use it & how little you use the pedal.

............

The super-compact master cylinder design allows you to mount the additional lever above or below your clutch for a totally personalised set up.

............

Riders are often unsure of how they will cope with 2 levers on the left but it is normally very quick & easy to get used to, using the rear brake lever comes very naturally to most as it's in the same place as on a pedal bike so its just a case of getting the levers into a position that suits you.

............

Obviously a Rekluse clutch is the ideal component to compliment the left hand rear brake but it's by no means a necessity.

Here's a quote from an expert rider who runs a standard clutch, he bought 3 kits for his team before they competed in the 2015 Red Bull Romaniacs:

"we finished 36th & 37th in the silver class which we are very proud of, I can honestly say if I didn't have that kit I think I may have put the bike back in the van, the severity of the downhills with constant switchbacks I can't put into words, all 3 kits worked perfectly all week thanks very much"

............

The kit comprises of the following components:

  • Left hand rear brake lever/master cylinder assembly
Very compact & multi-adjustable Hayes brake lever/master cylinder assembly allows a multitude of fitting options either above or below the existing clutch lever assembly. The reservoir capacity has been increased by means of a custom made stainless steel spacer plate.

  • Full specification motorcycle stainless braided brake line
Smooth bore DuPont PTFE hosing & marine grade stainless braiding sealed with a tough clear protective covering. Stainless steel swivel unions allow perfect, twist-free alignment & the ability to dismantle & even change to other bikes as often as you like. All additional components necessary to fit the system.

  • An adaptor sleeve that converts the rear master cylinder to dual actuation
Custom made in corrosion resistant, high strength 6082 aluminium alloy, this sleeve simply screws into your standard rear brake master cylinder reservoir & transforms it into a dual actuation device allowing the rear brake to be operated by either the foot pedal or the hand lever.

  • A brake bleeding kit containing all the items you will need to bleed the system
Complete with a syringe & all the hosing & connections required to back bleed the system.

  • Detailed fitting instructions

Can be fitted to the following models that I know of:

Reunited: Husqvarna and Husaberg Merge

Thu, 16 May 2013

When Pierer Industrie AG purchased Husqvarna from BMW in January, it was obvious some major changes were on their way. Pierer Industries AG is owned by Stefan Pierer, who happens to be chief executive officer of KTM, which also happens to be the parent company of Husaberg. That’s three European motorcycle manufacturers with strong off-road lineages in the same family.
