Honda XR description

Hello. Here is an excellent Honda XR400 in top mechanical condition with a clear title. This bike was owned by a friend of mine who is quite the mechanical genius and very particular about his rides. This bike runs perfectly and Ive ridden it to testify this. I bought the bike to sell in my store and it is pictured as it sits here. The bike has new sprockets and a high quality chain with less than 1 mile. Rear brake disc is new and not broke in yet. The street legal tires are are new looking. Staight/trued wheels, rimlocked tires with slime installed. The bike has an expensive square bore MIKUNI carb (pumper) and has been jetted perfectly for our Colorado altitude. Nice tool kit is strapped to the front fender. The oil and filter are freshly installed. This bike is ready to ride and needs nothing. You can see the holes in the rear fender where the license plate was just removed (2013). I have covered the throttle with cardboard to keep people from twisting the throttle as this carb has a fuel pump. The bike is displayed in my second hand store (The To0lRite ZoNe) here in my town of Canon City, Colorado. You are responsible for shipping this bike to your address. I will of course assist the shipping company in loading the bike but will not crate this bike. Full payment is expected within 10 days and the bike can be stored here for 30 days with no hassles. Email me for my phone number if desired.  Thank you.  Daryl (61).

Ducati vs. Honda vs. Suzuki: MotoGP porn

Tue, 08 Feb 2011

For all you lovers of perfectly welded titanium, amazingly machined aluminium and lovingly crafted fasteners; this blog's for you. These pics were shot at the Sepang MotoGP tests where the bikes were presumably being warmed up, ready for action. Take a look at that Suzuki, it's a work of art.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.

Rossi Wins at Assen, but Lorenzo Is the Hero; Alpinestars Releases Crash Data

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

There’s only one thing left to say about Jorge Lorenzo’s 124 mph crash during a rainy practice session last Thursday while warming up for the TT Assen: It could have been a lot worse. The images are horrific, but thanks to groundbreaking protective gear, Lorenzo walked away with only a collarbone fracture and a heck of a tale to tell. Today, Alpinestars released a trace graph analysis of Lorenzo’s spill, thanks to data collected from his TechAir airbag suit.
