Honda XR description
1995 Honda XR600R. This bike came to me on a trade, and after storing it awhile I decided to tear it down to repaint the frame. I painted the frame with white automotive acrylic enamel, bought new plastics incl, front and rear fenders, side covers, and a used front headlight/number plate assembly. I added a new seat/ tank cover combo, and new swingarm decals. I rebuilt the rear shock using "all-balls" re-valve assembly, and genuine Honda rear shock oil. I replaced the levers, and have new grips to go on the "Pro Taper" gold series bars. Bike has a decent front tire, but the rear tire is shot. I decided the new owner could put on their tire of choice. Front forks seem to be in good shape. I put new rear brake pads on it. The engine cranks and runs out fine, it has a Supertrapp exhaust system that has the end cone and 3 of the discs now, but is missing a couple discs and the end cap to be complete. (about $40. on Ebay) I repacked the silencer after a thorough cleaning and light buff job. I have not ridden the bike to give a full honest assessment of the performance so, please bid with that understanding!! I am listing this XR with a low opening bid and fair reserve. These are known to be great reliable machines that run forever. Bike sold with a Bill of Sale only. The listing requires "clear" title to be filled in, but bike does not come with a title. Bike will need to be picked up at my location, or I will assist the shipper of your choice. ALL arrangements and expense are up to the winning bidder! I have lowered the reserve price. Happy bidding and good luck!

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates
Tue, 03 Jan 2012In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.
Win a Fireblade. Yes, really.
Fri, 29 Jun 2012This weekend sees the launch of Honda's anniversary promotions for the Fireblade – marking 20 years since its introduction. The firm has created a prize-draw web page at www.honda.co.uk/fireblade and for a chance to win you just need to fill in your details, after which you'll be given a code which you must take to a participating Honda dealer on August 11 before 2pm. The winner will be announced at 3pm on the 11th, and if they've hung around in the dealership until then they'll also be given 10 tickets to Motorcycle Live 2012.
