I am selling my 1999 Honda Valkyrie; I have owned it for 6 years and I am the second owner. It has just over 17,000 miles; I have put 5000 miles on it since I have owned it. It runs great and has never given me any trouble; it goes down the road very nicely - no hesitations, no vibrations. The bike has always been adult owned and operated, and has never been raced, dropped, modified, or abused.
The battery was replaced 2 or 3 years ago, and so was the front tire at about the same time. The paint is in very good condition, with only a couple of small dings that one would basically have to look for in order to notice. The chrome is all in very nice shape with no rust or pitting. There are no leaks at all. Lights all work as they should. The left side cover (chromed plastic) has an issue with one of the hidden snaps, - it currently has some clear tape holding it on. The original yellow side covers will be included with the bike; the rear back rest/sissy bar is also included, along with some other misc. parts. Stoner Blows Away Competition on Final Day of MotoGP Sepang Test
Thu, 02 Feb 2012To be the man, you have to beat the man, and after the final day of MotoGP’s pre-season test in Malaysia, Repsol Honda‘s Casey Stoner continues to be the man. The reigning MotoGP World Champion didn’t let lingering soreness from the back problems that sidelined him for the first day of testing at Sepang slow him down. On just his second of 21 laps on the final day, Stoner set a blistering lap time of 1:59.607, besting second-fastest rider Jorge Lorenzo by 0.591 seconds.While there’s still some room for improvement to be found his Honda RC213V, Stoner will turn things over to the engineers and fly back home to Switzerland to his wife Adriana for the birth of their first child.
Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
