Honda VTX description

Time to put my bike up for sale, have baby #2 coming soon.  2005 Honda VTX 1800 N (Neo) spec 3.  Spec 3 means it has all the OEM chrome that Honda offered.  This is the rare Neo style with the long fenders and LED taillight.  Only 9,800 miles, runs excellent, in very good shape.

Extras include:

·         Vance and Hines exhaust (very small scratch on one pipe),

·         Mustang seat (shown in picts as solo, but I have the passenger seat as well,

·         1.5" Cobra fatty crash bar,

·         Kuryakan longhorn highway peg extensions (I’m tall, they can easily be removed and sold),

·         Diamond highway pegs,

·         Cruiser Performance 1.5" VTX Massive T-Bars with 8” Rise,

·         diamond grips which match the highway pegs,

·         mounted saddle bags,

·         windshield,

·         Joe Florida white LED accent lights (see pict).

If you've never ridden the VTX 1800, you are in for a treat, the 1800s have ridiculous power.  Here’s more info on the VTX 1800N as well as the difference between spec 1, 2, 3.

The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

Press Launches - the ugly truth. Part 1

For the nosey amongst you, you might be interested to know what goes on during a 'press launch'. The phrase is used in passing in new model reports as if you should all know what it is. Like some kind of given.

Gresini Unveils 2012 MotoGP and Moto3 Honda Race Bikes

Tue, 13 Mar 2012

Last season, Alvaro Bautista rode on one of the best looking motorcycles on the MotoGP grid, the Suzuki GSV-R in Rizla powder blue livery by Troy Lee Designs. This season, Bautista is riding the Gresini Honda RC213V, but instead of its previous white paint job, the Gresini machine is in a sleek black. No reason for the color change was announced, though it’s possible the choice is a sign of mourning for the late Marco Simoncelli whose place Bautista is assuming with Gresini.
