Up for auction: 1963, 1966, & 1967 Honda CB77 Super Hawk 305’s in restored condition.  I spent many years looking for the best CB77 305 Hawks available on the market and these are awesome restored bikes.  Please remember; when you bid, you are bidding for all three bikes.

I have included the ad's from each E-bay Super Hawk purchase I made so you can see the extensive restoration process each one went through.  As you go through the history of the bikes you will also see they were all clean bikes prior to the restoration process.  I never could find the white Hawk, (restored to my standards) but that can be the next persons challenge.  I have 4 other Honda seats included in this auction; 1 red, 1 blue, and 2 black (these are not on the bikes).

The only thing I have done with the Hawks since I purchased them was to re-jet them for the New Mexico altitude and pampered them.  Due to lack of space and too many toys, it’s time for someone else to enjoy these gems.

These bikes are being auctioned as a set, serious bidders only please.

Buyer is responsible for making all shipping arrangements

Seller reserves the right to end auction early in the event the bikes sell locally

Please feel free to contact us with any questions prior to bidding

Thank You!

Offered for sale is my completely restored, very low original mileage 1967 Honda CB77 Superhawk. I have owned this bike for 11 years, since then it has received a thorough cosmetic and mechanical restoration. It was stripped down to the frame, frame was then powder coated, and all black painted pieces except the gas tank have been powder coated.

The gas tank has been professionally repainted. The engine was taken apart and all seals and gaskets were replaced, the pistons received new rings, and the intake and exhaust vales were lapped. Everything inside the engine shows very little wear. The silver color fenders, side covers and forks have been powder coated. All polished aluminum pieces were buffed and clear coated. All chrome has been re-plated; rear rim has one small area where chrome came off during tire mounting.

Every zinc plated bolt and piece has been re-plated, New reproduction mufflers were installed, New reproduction rear shocks, New Avon Speedrider Z speed rated tires, New roller bearing headset, Wheel bearings were replaced as needed, New chain and sprockets, Front fork seals replaced, All new NOS cables, New Yuasa battery.

Electronic ignition was installed for better starting and performance. LED taillight for brightness and less current draw. The carburetors have been rebuilt by an expert rebuilder. The seat was recovered with a high quality cover that matches the original perfectly.  It starts and runs perfectly, just like it did in 1967!! Also included are the original tool kit, owners' manual and Honda factory shop manual. Also included is a copy of the original Pennsylvania title. If you have been looking for a show quality CB77, look no further.

Up for auction is a 1966 Honda CB77 Superhawk 305 with a complete nut and bolt restoration.  The following work was done:

Engine- Complete overhaul performed at HVC Cycle in Lincoln.  Cylinders were bored out and Wiseco

60.50mm pistons installed, all 4 valve seats were grinded down.  New O-rings, seals, bushings and bearings.

New engine mount bolts.  New tachometer cable, throttle cable, and speedometer cable.  Engine side covers

               were primed and painted.

Carburetors- Complete overhaul, rebuilt using Keyster carb kit, new idle jets.  New air intake tubes,

breather lines, fuel lines.  Petcock was rebuilt with new seals, o-rings, screen, and NOS petcock bowl.  Fuel

tank is free of any rust and has a new fuel cap and rubber gasket.  An NOS cork fuel cap gasket also comes

                with the bike.

Transmission/Clutch- Complete overhaul.  New clutch plates and friction discs, springs, seals, and O-rings.

New 14mm bushing C installed.  New Clutch cable, clutch actuator arm, spring.  New 32 tooth rear sprocket

(the original sprocket comes with the brake and is in decent shape) and 530x96 rear drive chain.

Frame/body- All parts were bead blasted, primed, and painted to match Honda’s original blue and silver color

combination (DuPont Imron 63203 UH and 4504 OU).  Center stand and kickstand were painted black.

Other parts were polished or plated appropriately.  Re-chromed parts include the front fork seal holders, fork

ribs, engine valley cover, exhaust pipe collar, fuel tank side panels, rear shock covers and mounting nuts.  New

AllBalls tapered steering head bearings, front fork oil seals, All NOS rubber grips, foot pegs, throttle grip pipe,

new gaskets and grommets.  New flat handlebars.

The seat that is on the bike is a reproduction seat.  It is made of a quality vinyl material and fits the seat mounts perfectly.  An original Superhawk of this color would have had a blue seat with “Honda” in red on the back of the seat.  I opted for this seat because I think it looks better than the red writing.  HOWEVER, the original seat pan was bead blasted, primed and painted black.  I also purchased a blue/red seat cover and had a local upholstery shop install the cover over the original foam, which is in good shape.  Both seats come with the bike.  I will admit that the vinyl material of the blue/red seat cover is not as nice in quality as the blue/white seat.

Electric- The wiring harness was removed and inspected.  All connections were clipped and given new

connectors.  NOS left and right forward control switches, NOS rectifier, new battery, battery mat, NOS battery

tie down strap, ground cable, bulbs all around, new sealed beam headlight, NOS brake sensor switch.

The speedometer/tachometer unit was sent to Foreign Speedo, Inc. in San Diego for re-conditioning and

re-facing.  It shows 17705.7 miles & operates and looks like it’s brand new.

Ignition- New points installed and timed, NGK spark plug wires and plugs, NOS condenser.  The bike fires

on either the touch of the button or a single kick.

Wheels/Brakes- Still has the original “DID” wheels, spokes, and spoke nipples.  The wheels were trued and

tires balanced at Brandi Cycle in Lincoln.  New rim strips, tubes and tires; Front – Avon Roadrider 90/90,

Rear – Avon Roadrider 100/90.  New Vesrah front and rear brakes, brake springs, brake return springs, brake

cam dust seals, and front and rear brake cables.  The inside of the brake hubs look as good as the outside and

brakes operate as if they’re brand new.  New wheel bearings front and rear.

Exhaust- These are the bike’s original mufflers and exhaust pipes.  They came with the bike, though the bike

had a different set of aftermarket straight pipes on it when I got it.  I’m not sure how much use the original pipes

got, because they were in great shape.  NOS exhaust gaskets at the ports, NOS packing where the exhaust

pipe meets the muffler, muffler diffusers, mounting hardware.

I followed the Honda parts manual to ensure that all parts and hardware are in place.  The bike runs as good as it looks.

…”Quick!  Call Barber Motorsports Museum…someone has stolen one of his Hondas…” …as overheard during a show.

The back story:  In the mid sixties (1967-70) while attending college in So-Cal I had a red 1963 ‘305’ Superhawk.  A great bike that handled many trips between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  Never an issue with the bike.  I can also attest that, on many weekends, with a little tweak of the timing, carbs, and exhaust the bike could reach 100mph.

Fast forward to today.  I own and operate a small motorcycle restoration service specializing in XS 650 Yamahas (marks650yamahas).  I will take on other projects and assignments on a case by case basis.  My paint work has been award winning at events across the country for my customers.

To bring the Superhawk back to the day it was uncrated starting with the frame, sandblasted, epoxy sealed, and covered in red.  The red is correct to the model with several coats and a clear coat after color sanding.  The silver is a soft gloss.  All chrome parts have been re-chromed including a NOS exhaust system.  The gauge chrome was also re-chromed along with being rebuilt by Foreign Speedo Service, San Diego, Cal.  It has new rims, spokes, and polished hubs.

The engine cases were split and internals inspected.  Cylinder bored .50 over.  The head was rebuilt by a trusted friend who not only shares his enjoyment of old Hondas but has built several Bonneville Speed week motorcycles.

This motorcycle was entered for the first time in June 2013 at the Viking Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club National Spring show.  It won its class (Junior First) with 99 points out of 100.

Helmet Law Upheld in Ontario

Tue, 16 Jun 2009

A Sikh in Ontario, Canada, has lost his challenge to the $110 ticket he received back in September 2005 for not wearing a helmet while riding his Honda Shadow.  Baljinder Badesha, 39, claims the Ontario helmet law is “100 per cent” discrimination no matter what the safety issues are when riding without a helmet. We cannot put anything over the turban, it is against our religion.  Mr. Badesha said outside court.

James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing

Fri, 09 Sep 2011

Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.

WSBK: 2012 Misano Results – Video

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.
