Motorcycle Gymkhana: The Perfect Use For A Helmet-Mounted Swivel Camera – Video

We’ve posted motorcycle gymkhana videos before, but this takes the production value up just a notch with the camera mounted on a swivel on the rider’s helmet! In case you aren’t familiar with this form of motorcycle competition, the course is generally set in a large parking lot type setting and is marked with cones. But this isn’t your basic rider course.

Alongside the most stunning collection of race and road bikes at their Motegi museum, next to some race bikes, Honda also has a step by step guide on most aspects of riding. I photographed the wonderful text on push starting but I also have lots of equally hilarious instructions on cornering braking and even what a riders goal should be. In order to use footage from a Dorna-sanctioned MotoGP test session — say, for marketing or promotional reasons — a team must receive approval from Dorna. The process is tedious, and even if permission is granted, there are strict limitations as to what the material may or may not be used for. So when Honda decided to conduct its own private test (which Yamaha also joined), at the Circuit of the Americas, it was free from any and all Dorna mandates.
