AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. 2012 Isle of Man TT Kickoff Event Will Stream Live Tomorrow, April 18

The most spectacular, and perhaps dangerous, road race in the world is more than a month away — a painfully long wait for fans! — but the Isle of Man is ramping up activities for the 2012 Isle of Man TT with the official race kickoff event slated for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 18, at Villa Marina in the Isle of Man’s capital, Douglas. The launch event takes place at 7pm [GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or 4pm EST in the U.S.], and will broadcast live via webstream on the TT’s official site homepage: www.iomtt.com.
