Honda Shadow tech info
Honda Shadow description
Honda Shadow VT700C, 1986. When initially released the bike was reviewed as "...almost maintenance free. In addition to the automatic valve-lash adjusters, camchain tensioners and hydraulic clutch, the VT750(predecessor with same features) has a pointless ignition, a brushless generator, and shaft drive. Only the spark plugs, engine oil and filters require attention; no motorcycle has ever offered such hassle-free ownership." This bike will easily last you the rest of your life and help you survive a zombie apocalypse. No chains, has a trouble free shaft drive. The indestructible V-twin was considered to be the most technologically advanced V-Twin at time of release. This is the perfect starter bike for those looking to be able to cruise on the highways as well as local roads. I've ridden this bike all over NY, NJ and NYC from Brooklyn to Bear mountain through the Hudson valley area. I replaced the brake levers and front and rear tires early summer. Tires are still practically new. The bike has low mileage but does show it's age cosmetically. It is flawless mechanically and has no trouble at all with cold starts. It was my first bike and I was hoping to pour more time into beautifying the bike but time is more valuable commodity for me at the moment. Bike is perfect size for developing riding skills. It's not so small that you're compromised on the highway. It's not so big that you can get yourself into trouble. You'll be able to get along local roads and enjoy road curves as well as being able to cruise highways with more than enough power to spare. This bike will take you everywhere trouble free without breaking your bank before you plop down dough for your dream bike. Priced to move. The bike is also perfect for restoration or customization projects. Feel free to contact me to take a look at the bike and test ride. It's really a fantastic bike. Hate to part with it. Bike is also advertised locally and will be sold to whoever closes sale first. |

Ashley Fiolek Featured in Vogue Magazine
Thu, 22 Mar 2012We can’t say for sure but this likely a first: a motocross racer featured in Vogue magazine. Fact-checking aside, we’re proud to report three-time Women’s Motocross Champion Ashley Fiolek will be the subject of a four-page feature in the upcoming April issue of the noted fashion magazine. The feature looks at how Fiolek finds success on the track while facing the challenge of being deaf in a sport where hearing is important.

Suzuka Eight Hour capers
Mon, 05 Sep 2011Chatting to TT legend John McGuiness recently about his first Suzuka Eight Hour experience got me thinking of a few capers the boys and me managed a few years back at what is still Japan's most important race of the season. It is a unique event that starts at 11am and finishes at 7pm making it a pukka endurance race as the last hour is run with headlights on in the dark. It is essentially an eight hour sprint that showcases the trickest endurance machinery and manufacturer’s sales can be affected the following year depending on who wins or loses.
