Modern Performance.Honda's line of Shadows are some of the most popular cruisers on the road. 1 look at the Shadow Aero will tell you why. It has a classic, retro style, with spoked wheels, full fenders, and long, chromed mufflers. Thoroughly modern performance is courtesy of the 745cc V-twin engine which is specially tuned for low-revving torque. Add maintenance-reducing features like shaft final drive and you have a bike that retains value and can take you, your gear, and a passenger anywhere you wish at a great value because the Aero is a huge bargain, giving you a big-bike ride without the big-bike price. If you're ready to turn some heads in a big way, and if you appreciate a bike that's never going to go out of style, the Aero is the machine for you.Specs: ENGINE:Engine Type: 745cc liquid-cooled 52 degrees V-twinBore And Stroke: 79mm x 76mmInduction: PGM-FI with automatic enrichment circuit, 34mm throttle bodyIgnition: Digital transistorized with electronic advanceCompression Ratio: 9.6:1Valve Train: SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM; 3 valves per cylinderDRIVE TRAIN:Transmission: Wide-ratio 5 gearFinal Drive: ShaftCHASSIS, SUSPENSION, BRAKES:Front Suspension: 41mm fork; 4.6 ins travelRear Suspension: Dual shocks with five-position spring-preload adjustability; 3.5ins travelFront Brake: Single 296mm disc with twin-piston caliper, ANTILOCKING BRAKESRear Brake: 180mm drum, ANTILOCKING BRAKESFront Tire: 120/90-17Rear Tire: 160/80-15DIMENSIONS:Rake: 34.0 degree (Caster Angle)Trail: 161mm (6.3 ins)Wheelbase: 64.6insSeat Height: 25.9insCurb Weight: 573lbs wetFuel Capacity: 3.7 gallons (including 0.9-gallon reserve)Miles Per Gallon: 56 MILES-PER-GALLON

Asimo: Lazy bastard

Wed, 22 Aug 2012

Honda's ASIMO, Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility robot is a pretty cool thing. Until I'd seen it in the flesh (plastic?) I thought it was just a willy-waving exercise from Honda, but when I saw it running and walking up and down stairs, I was massively impressed. So, perhaps, one day, we'll have the ability to buy a relative of ASIMO to help us around the house, I thought to myself.

A Different Bike Magazine

Thu, 12 Feb 2009

Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.
