Restored 1977 Honda Z 50 Minibike

Here we have for sale a very nice original restored 1977 Honda Z 50 minibike. This is a very nice bike that has seen very little use in the recent years. It was used very lightly and still looks great. The bike was cosmetically restored almost 10 years ago and it still looks stunning. The original tank was repainted and new decals were applied. The seat is in excellent condition with no tears, rips, or broken stitching in the material. The bike runs and shifts good. The engine is in great shape. The original fenders were rechromed. Back before you could get reproductions. The chrome is bright and shiny. The wheels were powdercoated the original gret color. The tires are in excellent condition and not worn out. The handlebars are good and the nos grips are perfect. The rear tail light looks complete with the original lens. The lens has some scratches on it. The bike has some scratches here and there because it has been used since the restoration was done. It has been adult owned and ridden. There is no headlight on the bike or switch, and wiring for it either. The bike is missing one chain adjuster. There is NO title on the little minibike. The bike will be sold with a bill of sale. The bike can be stored at my house while shipping arrangements are made. I can assist with as much as I can on the coordinating with the shipper. Please contact me with any and all questions that you might have before bidding on the little collectible minibike. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!

Mick Doohan NSR500 art sculpture

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

How do you best immortalise the great Mick Doohan and the big bang Honda NSR500 with which he dominated Grand Prix racing in the 90s? An Australian artist has answered this by creating an art installation that sees a hand-created replica of the bike exploded and suspended from the ceiling. The Doohan piece is appropriately titled 'The Big Bang' and as artist Eamon O'Tootle describes, "It is a complex sculpture comprising thousands of parts joining to make up a whole and symbolic tribute to the true inherent nature of art and sport – the creativity of design, where the mechanical is modified to suit the needs of man." Eamon added: "The way the Doohan piece came about was that one of the bikes Mick rode had an engine configuration called the Big Bang.

1954 AJS E95 May Fetch Upwards of $750K in August Pebble Beach Auction

Wed, 18 May 2011

This uber rare 1954 AJS E95, aka The Porcupine, may become the most expensive motorcycle in the world. World-famous auction house, Bonhams, has recently announced that it will handle auctioning of an ultra-rare 1954 AJS E95 during the Pebble Beach Car Week held annually in August at the Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel, Calif. Bonhams estimates that due to the rarity of the E95 (only four were completed by British brand AJS) it may see a bid as high as $750,000.
