1976 BMW R75/6, 20K miles, 100% all original parts (including tools) + saddlebags and running perfectly. Antique, a true beauty.  Selling because I am moving into an apartment and need to get a newer bike.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  Some comments from questions that potential buyers have had: Now, in terms of details of this motorcycle: 1- I am the 3rd owner of this bike.  2- We did a fine tuning of the bike about 2 months ago (changed spark plugs, rubber protectors, put in a brand new battery) so it runs perfectly good. My next move on the bike was buying a new seat as the one it has (original) is just a bit rusty.

You are bidding on a 1976 BMW R75/6 motorcycle.  I have owned this bike for 1 year.  It had been previously owned by a local attorney who had it serviced, gas drained and parked it at the end of 2004.  It had been sitting in a conditioned garage until I purchased it.  It has a clean Indiana title.  I checked all of the vitals, filled with fresh gas and installed a battery.  The bike started and runs.  I have not taken any of the components off of the motor, or done any type of internal inspection.  I have ridden it about 15 miles.  I did rebuild the front master cylinder which was leaking and it now works perfectly.  I bought it as a project bike but decided to sell because of an out of state job transfer.  There are some scratches in the paintwork and a couple small dents in the tank.  The pictures tell the story.  Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. The successful bidder is solely responsible for pick up.  I have no way to transport the motorcycle.  If you require shipping, it must be picked up by your shipper here.  The motorcycle must be paid for in full prior to pickup. Thank you for bidding.

Restored, numbers matching 1976 R75/6 BMW 750cc Airhead with 36,814 original miles. This motorcycle has no dings or dents; all new paint/clear coat with hand-painted pin stripes. Garage kept Arizona bike with no rust. Rare S-Fairing with working clock, working volt meter and new windshield. The top end has been resealed per factory specs. Continental tires have 1500 miles on them. All rubber pieces on the bike have been replaced. New cables, alcohol proof float kits and mirrors. Wheels have been trued and ride very nicely. All engine seals and o-rings replaced. All new handlebar switch pods on both left and right sides. DynaIII electronic ignition. Koni shocks in the rear and Progressive springs up front. Reynolds Rack with a very nice newer set of locking Krauser hard panniers included. The bike also has the original toolkit, owners manual, air pump and BMW factory rag.   Valves were adjusted 1K ago. The engine oil, gearbox oil and final drive oil just changed. *Mileage may vary a little (~15 miles/week), as I take it out for short Sunday cruises.**Corbin seat shows some wear, but is comfortable. Right side Krauser bag is missing a stick-on emblem.A nice example of a great-running, very distinct, vintage motorcycle.

I am really in love with BMW airheads right now and have a couple projects going.  The plan was to make this into a cafe or use the engine for another project and part out the rest.  The previous owner put on a big bore kit that really gives this bike some grunt!  The Mikunis could use some top end tuning but are much simpler to work over the Bings I'm used to.  The body has been rattle canned and looks ok from a distance but very obvious when you get closer.  For me, I'd respray if I was to keep it.  There are a couple issues that are noteworthy.  The bike does drip a bit of oil after being ridden.  I don't know exactly where from but plan on some new gaskets if you want to fix this.  The previous owner rode it like this and wasn't concerned, just kept her topped off.  I'm very picky and would re seal if it was me.  also, the bolt that attaches the valve cover in the center is loose.  It's not needed to hold the valve cover on, but should be taken care of.  Again, previous owner didn't mind, I'd prefer to fix it.  I do have the speedo/tach combo if you would like to have it with the bike.   The wiring is all there, just not on the bike currently.  It shows 18.5K miles.  The head and tail lights along with signals are working although no front signals installed. I've priced it based on the current condition and well under parts value.  I'm sure the smartest thing I could do is part out the bike but It's too nice to do that.  I love this style of bike, tank and especially the peanut style heads. I can help you with shipping by meeting with your driver or using one of my resources.  California or Arizona are very easy places for me to ship to, typically 300 or so.

Up for auction is my 1976 R90S.  I’m the second owner and have owned it since 1990.  It was originally Daytona Orange, but was repainted Silver Smoke in 1993 at 30,000 miles. The engine and frame serial numbers match.  There are a few minor scratches in the paint and the left muffler has a dent. This year, the bike got new battery, rear shocks, steering head bearings, and front fork seals.

2024 Honda Transalp Review – First Ride

Fri, 03 Nov 2023

A European staple comes to America Photos by Align Media/Honda Adventure bikes weren’t really a thing in 1989, at least not in the United States. Even BMW’s venerable GS was nothing more than a misunderstood, oversized dual-purpose machine with ties to the Paris-Dakar rally, which itself was only a little more than a decade old at the time. At the back of the dealership where I worked in 1991, parked next to the tire rack, languished a 1989 Honda XL600V Transalp.
