16-year-old Sophie Walls is not your common teenager, along with achieving 14 GCSEs yesterday she balances her studies with being one of the youngest female racers in the country. Sophie rides a Honda RS125 in the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club and was fortunate that the Sir Graham Balfour School she attends in Stafford gives her sporting leave so she can travel to race meetings. Arai Helmet Sponsoring Upcoming Superbike Shootout Race Weekends

Arai Helmet has thrown its proverbial hat in the ring by signing up to sponsor the next two events of the new GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout Presented by Yamaha. In addition, Arai has been named the official helmet of the series. The Arai Pacific Nationals will be hosted by the AFM next weekend, May 3-4, at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California.

Postie Bike Challenge [video]

The Postie Bike Challenge started in 2002 as a one-off event in Brisbane, Australia to prove that small bikes can travel long distances over both asphalt, dirt, sand, or stony surfaces has turned into a 10-day charity event.  The entry fee is $4,000 but almost everything is taken care of, including: Late model Honda CT110 Postie bike (registered to you!) All breakfasts, lunches and dinners All fuel for the trip One way air ticket back to Brisbane Support truck to carry equipment, clothing bag and mechanics Final celebration dinner and hotel accommodation That’s right, you can keep the Honda CT110 Postie bike (designed for commercial and agricultural, also used by Australia Post) but the concept is to give the bike to charity in your name after the event is over, its up to you but more than 90% of the participants do give the bike back. The 2009 Postie Bike Challenge will take place from October 3rd to the 13th and will go from Brisbane to Melbourne, the destination changes every year.  The route taken will be about 2,000 miles (the direct route is about 1,000 miles).  If your interested, get your entry form and deposit in ASAP, last years event was sold out.
