Repsol Extends Honda MotoGP Sponsorship to 2017

Spanish oil and gas company Repsol has renewed its long-standing partnership with Honda‘s MotoGP program, ensuring we’ll continue to Honda’s factory prototypes in their iconic orange through the 2017 season. Repsol has backed Honda’s team since February 1995, making them the longest-running factory team sponsorship pairing in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history. In their two decades together, Repsol and Honda have claimed 10 rider titles, 133 race wins and 354 podiums.

Stoner explains the tank slapper

Casey Stoner looked all set to win at Motegi, after translating his pole position into an early race-lead. But coming over the crest on the back straight his bike momentarily lost control in a tank slapper. Honda’s former joint venture in India has officially rebranded itself as Hero MotoCorp, revealing the company’s new logo and signaling the beginning of a new era for India’s largest motorcycle manufacturer. Formerly known as Hero Honda, the joint venture claims a share of nearly half of India’s two-wheeled vehicle market. Honda decided in late 2010 to end its 27-year partnership with India’s Hero Motors, buying out its 26% share for $855 million, about half the market price at the time.
