San Carlo Gresini To Field CRT Entry with Honda CBR1000RR Engine

The San Carlo Gresini race team announced it will compete in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship as a Claiming Rules Team with a Honda CBR1000RR engine in an FTR prototype chassis. The move is a late, but unfortunately necessary change from the team’s original plan to run the factory-level Honda RC213V racebike. The late Marco Simoncelli was tabbed to ride the newest version of Honda’s MotoGP machine next season, but after his tragic death, Gresini had to find another option if it wanted to continue racing.

Team Aspar Announces Hayden Signing and Honda Production Racer

The Kentucky Kid, Nicky Hayden‘s signing with Jorge Martinez’s Team Aspar is now official, with the Spanish team finally confirming news many MotoGP followers were long expecting. Also expected was the announcement that Hayden will compete in the 2014 MotoGP Championship on Honda‘s new production racer (unofficially known as the RCV1000R.) “Thanks to everybody who helped make this happen & my fans still behind me. Luca Marini, Valentino Rossi’s Half Brother, To Make Moto3 Debut at Misano

MotoGP.com is reporting that Luca Marini, half brother to nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, will make his Moto3 debut at the Misano round of the MotoGP world championship, Sep. 13-15. Marini, who recently turned 16, meeting the minimum age requirement required for world championship competition, currently lies second in the Italian Moto3 championship aboard his FTR Honda.
