This 1981 CX500 has a custom paint job with a few flows here and there. Custom seat and tail section. The bike has cbr600rr forks/front end. Front tire is new(120/90-17, the last picture shows the bike with the original tire before I swapped it), I have the new rear tire but I have not installed it yet. I also have a set of rear break shoes that will go with the bike, the rear brakes on the bike now squeak a tiny bit, the front brakes are full of life. The small holes on either side of the tail section are for turn signal mounting, if desired. In the photo's it shows the cbr grips and extensions on the lefts but not the right, but I just added the grips and grip extension on the right as well. This bike is in its "work cloths", I was going to strip the entire bike down and powder coat the frame but I do not have the time right now. Since the photo's, I have added a new set of gold colored air shocks, the shocks in the photo's will go with the bike. It handles wonderfully with the cbr front end. I have a rejet kit 90/120 for the carbs which I have not installed yet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.
2013 Mugen Shinden Ni Electric Race Bike Revealed
Fri, 10 May 2013Noted Honda tuning company Mugen has revealed the second generation version of its electric racebike which will race in the TT Zero at the 2013 Isle of Man TT. The Shinden Ni (“Shinden” meaning “God of Electricity” while “Ni” is the number two in Japanese) will once again be ridden by 19-time TT winner John McGuinness. Mugen has been working on the Shinden Ni since last year’s TT Zero, using data collected in the race and during tests at circuits in Japan.
Motorcycle Results From The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Mon, 01 Jul 2013The 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is in the books, and while much of the media attention focused on Sebastien Loeb demolishing the outright course record, setting the first eight-minute lap with a 8:13.878 — over 90 seconds faster than the previous lap record —in his Peugeot 208 T16, history was made in the motorcycle divisions as well. Below are the times for all the motorcycle competitors in this year’s event. As expected, Carlin Dunne aboard the Lightning electric superbike, took top honors among all motorcycle competitors, marking the first time an electric motorcycle has done so.
